Dashboard customisation help

Hi all,

Just discovered this integration tonight and it’s amazing - what a great piece of work!

I was looking for a wee but of help if possible- I’m looking to customise the gamification dashboard, and have read the guides and have changed the pref settings to exclude “waiting” and to group by labels in a specific order, but my customisations don’t appear to work in the dashboard. I feel I’m probably missing something simple but it’s driving me a bit crazy!

Any pointers would be very much appreciated!

What I would say is start by just editing a dashboard, the chores card specifically. Make some small changes to the pref_ values and you should see the preview card change as you make the changes. Tip - single click the title of the edit dialog and it will expand wider making it easier to see everything.

If you still aren't seeming changes, do a few screenshots and I'll try to point you in the right direction.

Thank you for your help. Now using the kids classic dashboard and finding my changes to show (was previously using the gamification dashboard). However I am still struggling to exclude completed/waiting chores from showing when I am using group by label. Am I able to do this?

Is this how you are doing it? I just tested on the gamified chores dashboard and it seemed to work even with labels grouping turned on. Tell me more about your settings or give me some screenshots and a copy of your preferences.

Thanks for your help, I’m still struggling to get those states excluded. I think I have it set as in your screenshot above, but completed, pending, waiting all still show up. Not a major deal as I’m now rotating cards depending on time of day, but I can’t work out where I’m going wrong!

Screenshots are helpful, I think I get it now. If you turn off the use_label_grouping, does the state filtering work properly then? I'm guessing there might be a logic order issue I need to look at.

Yes, as soon as label grouping is turned off they are all hidden.

Sorry it took a little longer for me to get this implemented than I hoped, but it should now be working as expected in the new 1.5.0 beta. Also, there are several new features including include and exclude filters for dashboards that might be useful to you. (specifically the new include filters which might be more efficient than the way you currently have to exclude filters.)
