v1-6-0

Fluent Sensors is now live on the Microsoft Store for Windows 11. This update also makes the whole app usable with the keyboard and a screen reader, and some minor UI adjustments.

📝 Changelog

  • Keyboard and Screen Reader: The whole app can now be used without a mouse. Tab moves between regions, such as the title bar, the menu, a hardware group or a settings card, and the arrow keys move inside them, the way File Explorer and Task Manager work. Every icon-only button now has a name for screen readers, and the sensor rows work from the keyboard, threshold badges included (#94).
  • The Microsoft Store version now checks for updates and installs them from inside the app, with the same update dialog and progress bar as the GitHub version (#91).
  • The start page now shows the app's uptime (#90).
  • Smaller UI improvements and fixes: the sensors page fits narrow windows, shortens long names with an ellipsis and shows how many sensors of each hardware are shown. CPU and RAM use the newer Windows 11 icons, and Wi-Fi adapters get their own. Groups in the hidden sensors window no longer expand and collapse together with the sensors page, the performance views no longer scroll by a pixel or two, the GPU overview graphs keep their own time span after the Extended view was opened, and the start page icons follow a theme switch made on the settings page (#90, #92, #95).
  • Fixed the release notes only showing the versions already saved on this machine while "Check for updates on startup" is off (#86).

📦 Installation

Microsoft Store (Windows 11): Install Fluent Sensors from the Microsoft Store. This version is signed by Microsoft and updates through the Store. Like every version, it asks for administrator rights on start, because LibreHardwareMonitorLib needs them to read the hardware sensors.

Installer or portable (Windows 10 and 11):

Important

These builds aren't code-signed, and both the app and its installer require administrator privileges (LibreHardwareMonitorLib needs this to read the hardware sensors). Do not just run .exe files that ask for admin rights without knowing what they do. Always verify it yourself, e.g. by checking the source code or scanning it (e.g. via VirusTotal).

  1. Download either FluentSensors_Installer.exe (installs the app) or FluentSensors_Portable_1.6.0.zip (no install, just extract and run) from the assets below.
  2. Run the installer and launch the app, or extract the zip and run FluentSensors.exe directly.

v1-5-0

This release prepares the app for the Microsoft Store.

📝 Changelog

  • Microsoft Store: The app can now be built and shipped as an MSIX package. A Store listing is in preparation; this GitHub release stays the primary download and keeps the portable build, which MSIX does not support (#80).
  • The title bar now points out when PawnIO is missing, instead of leaving the readings that need it silently empty (#84).
  • Fixed the performance page reporting "sensor not found" for temperature and power on AMD CPUs, and for power on Intel integrated graphics (#79).
  • Fixed the hardware category icons keeping their old color after a theme switch (#82).
  • Fixed the title bar status readout getting cut off behind the update pill (#84).

This update introduces a start page and a graph fill fade, along with several smaller improvements and fixes.

📝 Changelog

  • Start Page: Added a start page as the app's entry point: a snapshot of every device on this machine, the app's own live status, the update state, and a dialog carrying the full release history. Which page a launch lands on is a setting, so it can be skipped entirely (#65).
  • Graph Fill Fade: Added a global toggle that fades the area under every graph line out towards the bottom (#68).
  • Graphs can now take their color from the hardware category they belong to. The hardware icons have a switch of their own (#73).
  • The info popup now colors its title and button while it is open, and every placement mode stays inside the window (#67).
  • The settings folder under %LocalAppData% is now named FluentSensors instead of FluentHwInfo; an installed copy is moved over once, so no settings are lost (#66).
  • Fixed the app starting unfocused when a pinned widget or taskbar widget opened with it (#72).

This update introduces CSV recording, an in-app updater and startup settings, along with several smaller improvements and fixes.

📝 Changelog

  • CSV Logging: Added sensor recording to a CSV file, with a dedicated always-on-top logger window showing the elapsed time, the row count and the save location (#54).
  • Automatic Updates: The app now checks GitHub for a newer release on startup, and can download and install it on its own (#61).
  • Startup Settings: Added run on startup, an optional 30 second delay for it, start minimized to the tray, and a toggle for the update check (#62).
  • Added settings to toggle and reorder the title bar status readout (#60).
  • The tray menu now restores the CSV logger window as well, and links the project page (#63).
  • Reworked the taskbar widget button hover, press and active states (#53).
  • Fixed the taskbar widget position and the active sensor profile not surviving a restart (#57).

  • Added a setting to switch graphs between step and smooth line style (#44)
  • Repaired and enforced the dotnet format check in CI (#47).
  • Reduced the published app size by 60 MB (#50).
  • The loading screen now shows the Mica backdrop as well (#51).

v1-0-0

This is FluentSensors' first full release. The main addition is a new Hardware View page modeled after the Windows Task Manager, along with a few smaller improvements.

📝 Changelog

  • Hardware View Page: Added a new page that shows each hardware component LibreHardwareMonitorLib finds as its own tab, same as the sensors list already does, so multiple CPUs, GPUs, or drives each get their own tab. Only RAM gets grouped into one. Each tab shows the most important graphs for that hardware in order, plus static info like cache size, RAM speed, or storage type (#10).
  • Added a small status header in the title bar for basic app diagnostics (#18).
  • Clock sensors above 1000 MHz now show in GHz for easier reading (#20).
  • Switched graph history to a time window instead of a fixed number of data points, so the shown range stays the same no matter the polling interval (#21).
  • Fixed inconsistent app closing/minimizing behavior with the system tray (#19).
  • Added a check for the .NET 10 runtime; if it's missing, a hint with a download link now shows in the app title bar (#22).

📝 Changelog

  • Widget Graph Redesign: The widget graph now has a custom tooltip that actually fits the app's design, plus a crosshair line that follows the cursor for easier reading, and an optional threshold value visualisation per sensor. (#6).
  • Persistent Settings: All settings from the settings page are now saved and restored on restart, along with the window position and size (#12).
  • Hide Sensors: You can now choose which sensors show up in the list and disable the ones you don't need (#14).

  • Fixed the app minimizing to tray instead of closing completely when no other window is open (#13).
  • Fixed sensor row font color staying white in light mode (#15).
  • Fixed the hover value label in the widget window not resizing for large numbers (#16).
  • Fixed the majority of the memory leaks that occurred when opening new windows or navigating between pages (#17).
