1.4.0 - Owned Code Mode V2

TideCode 1.4.0 replaces the previous generated-Node execution path with a TideCode-owned Code Mode interpreter designed for more predictable and safer agent work.

  • Keeps the model-facing action surface Code Mode-only while routing filesystem, terminal, planning, MCP, and other external effects through explicit tools.* capabilities.
  • Adds deterministic JavaScript-like orchestration with lexical scopes, loops, functions, async/await, structured errors, bounded execution, and internal capability discovery through tools.$codemode.search(...).
  • Bounds concurrent host tool execution and serializes conflicting same-file mutations while still allowing independent work to run concurrently.
  • Improves Code Mode diagnostics, provider consistency, tool failure handling, edit and patch reliability, and Full Access behavior without exposing ambient Node.js authority.
  • Requires no manual migration or configuration changes.
  • Validated with 1,465 automated tests, TypeScript type checking, the production build, and protected-branch pull-request CI.
