Velair 1.3.0
Velair 1.3.0
Velair 1.3.0 adds Climate Profiles and Modes for adapting several zones to
changes such as being away, at home, or on vacation while preserving each
zone's default schedule.
π Reaching this release is an important milestone for Velair. Climate Profiles
and Modes have been on the roadmap for some time, and the feature has been
shaped by the many community members who shared their needs, real-world
examples, and feedback throughout its design.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to explain their workflows, test early
implementations, and help refine the experience. As always, please keep sharing
your feedback, use cases, and issues: it remains one of the most valuable ways
to help Velair improve.
β¨ Added
- Climate Profiles with per-zone weekly schedules and Default, Pause, or Turn
Off behavior. Activating a Profile applies its current schedule immediately,
cancels affected Boosts, respects global and zone pauses, and leaves omitted
zones on their default schedules. - Configurable Modes that atomically activate one or more non-overlapping
Profiles. Modes are available through Velair and the native
select.velair_modeentity for Home Assistant automations. - Explicit
DefaultandManualMode semantics. Default clears all active
Profiles, while selecting a Profile directly replaces the active set and
switches to Manual. Use a Mode to activate several compatible Profiles
together. velair.activate_profile,velair.deactivate_profile, and
profile_changedevents for scripts and automations. An emptyprofile_id
remains supported byvelair.activate_profilefor compatibility.- An independent Active setup Lovelace card with controls for Modes, direct
Profiles, or both.
π Changed
- Portable exports use model V5 with separate Profile and Mode definitions. V4
files remain importable.
π Improved
- Profiles and Modes have responsive editors, color and icon previews,
searchable icon guidance, collapsible zone configuration, visible automation
IDs, and accessible keyboard navigation. - Overview and Profiles share an Active setup chooser that shows the current
Mode and every applied Profile. - Timelines, next events, and zone labels reflect the effective Profile for each
zone, including interaction with Preconditioning and Room Assist. - Made Lovelace view names and ordering consistent while preserving every
existing YAMLviewidentifier.
π§ Notes
- Velair cannot reliably determine whether a Profile ID is referenced by a Home
Assistant automation, script, template, or blueprint before deletion. - Update through HACS when possible, restart Home Assistant, and refresh the
browser or companion app. - Existing schedules remain the default behavior until Profiles or Modes are
configured and activated.
