Welcome to the first official release of TimeFold! Designed to solve cluttered directories like Downloads, Screenshots, and Photos without freezing Windows Explorer.

  • Intelligent Date Detection: Select date source from Date Modified, Date Created, or Earliest Date (oldest timestamp).
  • Flexible Naming Templates: Sort by Monthly (2026 March), ISO 8601 (2026-03), Daily (2026 March 15), Quarterly (2026 Q1), Half-Year (2026 H1), or Year Only (2026).
  • Custom Prefix & Suffix: Prepend or append text (e.g., Photos_2026 March_Archive).
  • Format Modifiers: One-click toggles for order flipping (Month Year vs Year Month) and short month abbreviations (Mar).
  • Live Folder Preview: Real-time multi-folder preview card in Preferences shows sample folder structures before moving.
  • Include Loose Folders: Option to move top-level folders alongside files or organize files only.
  • System File Shield: Automatically protects and skips Windows system files (desktop.ini, Thumbs.db, $RECYCLE.BIN).
