Conference badge preview — factory stack 3
Pre-releaseConference badge preview
Six-page offline badge firmware for the M5Stack StopWatch (ESP32-S3, 16 MiB flash, 8 MiB OPI PSRAM): animated init(), the published daily schedule with On now highlighting, Developers After Dark placeholder, phone-configurable name/photo/social QRs, Hack your Badge, and Settings.
Install in desktop Chrome or Edge from https://stopwatch.workos.cloud/stopwatch/install/. The requested entry https://drops.workos.cloud/stopwatch redirects there. Use a USB data cable.
Compatibility
This alpha supports updates to badges already provisioned with the conference partition layout. It preserves NVS, profile storage and recognized app0 boot selectors. Factory-layout devices are rejected before writing; factory conversion is not yet qualified. Never flash a merged full-device image or initialize storage merely to bypass that check.
The browser verifies component hashes, device layout, written data, a fresh local clock, an advancing hardware RTC, mounted profile storage and offline radio state. It reports incomplete verification separately from a successful write.
Files
firmware.bin: application at0x10000.bootloader.bin: native bootloader at0x0.partition-table.bin: unchanged conference table at0x8000.release.json: sizes, SHA-256 digests, exact layout, and provenance.
These are source-built components, never a device backup. No NVS, filesystem or OTA-selection image is included. Use the guarded installer rather than guessing flash offsets.
Known preview limits
Event art remains provisional. Use pushers or pager arrows while horizontal swipe routing is addressed. Some phones may need to open http://192.168.4.1 manually during setup. The framework audit records remaining orientation timing and allocation-failure edge cases. Battery runtime and stock-device conversion remain unqualified. Schedule blocks repeat daily; Happy hour ends at midnight because the published schedule gives no end time.

This is the exact application previously checked on the development board for the published schedule. The manifest distinguishes embedded firmware metadata from the dirty packaging worktree; it does not claim that the packaging commit alone attests to the binary. The release tag includes the native firmware and repeatable packaging/installer sources.
