First release — a native macOS app for inspecting media file metadata.

Features

• Drag & drop one or more media files (or add via the + button).
• Two-pane interface: dropped files on the left, metadata on the right.
• Plain-text, selectable, monospaced display; nested JSON is prettified with tab indentation.
• Images — EXIF, GPS (with decoded coordinates), TIFF, IPTC and more via ImageIO.
• Audio & video — duration, tags, and per-track details via AVFoundation.
• PNG text chunks — extracts tEXt/zTXt/iTXt, including ComfyUI / Stable Diffusion prompt and workflow JSON that ImageIO doesn't expose.
• Clear "No metadata" notice for files without embedded metadata.

Requirements

• macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.

Install

Download MetadataReader-1.0.dmg, open it, and drag Metadata Reader to Applications.
