how do we create threads/categories... is there a manual |

You should be able to go into a category and click "New Thread" at the top right: 
Are you not seeing these buttons at the top? If not, open an issue and give me as many details as you can so I can try to reproduce the issue and fix it. I haven't started working on a Wiki/manual yet but it will be done in the future. |

Are you not seeing these buttons at the top?
Do you have any categories? The default installations should start you
up with 2 categories to begin with. Do you see those?
If not, open an issue

Looks like the migration didn't go well, can you try adding yourself as admin and create a category? php occ forum:set-role yourusername user
