OhMyHerdr v0.9.9

Choose a tag to compare

@chengyixu chengyixu released this 26 Oct 05:34
c434727

Fixed

  • Release binaries carry the OhMyHerdr product identity again. The published 0.9.8 binary was compiled without OHMYHERDR_BUILD=1: it reported herdr 0.9.8, used stable Herdr's ~/.config/herdr configuration and socket instead of ~/.config/ohmyherdr, and followed upstream Herdr's update manifest. 0.9.9 restores the separate product runtime, so profiles saved under ~/.config/ohmyherdr are available again.

Changed

  • Product releases are published locally with just release-ohmyherdr <version>. It refuses any binary that does not report <version>-ohmyherdr.<version> with its socket under the ohmyherdr configuration directory, and verifies the published GitHub Release and npm package. The unused GitHub Actions release workflow was removed.

Upgrading from 0.9.8

  • The 0.9.8 binary reads upstream Herdr's update manifest, so ohmyherdr update cannot reach 0.9.9. Reinstall with npm install --global ohmyherdr@latest or the direct binary download in the README. Updating from 0.9.7 or earlier works normally.
  • Profiles and settings created while running 0.9.8 were written to ~/.config/herdr and are not migrated automatically.

Distribution

  • Apple Silicon macOS binary: ohmyherdr-macos-aarch64.
  • Product identity: 0.9.9-ohmyherdr.0.9.9.
  • Private protocol: 22; stable endpoint generation: 1.
  • Source commit: c434727.

Updating

  • Publishing this release does not install it or restart any existing runtime.
  • Run ohmyherdr update when ready, then follow the updater's runtime migration guidance.
  • Ohmyherdr updates use merged fork builds; raw upstream Herdr binaries do not replace the fork.

Warning

Do not install this release. This binary was built without the OhMyHerdr product identity: it reports herdr 0.9.8, uses ~/.config/herdr instead of ~/.config/ohmyherdr, and follows upstream Herdr's update feed, so ohmyherdr update cannot reach later versions. Install 0.9.9 instead with npm install --global ohmyherdr@latest or the direct binary download in the README.

Ohmyherdr 0.9.8

Same-pane lossless harness switching across all active integrations

Added

  • Same-pane lossless harness switching across all active integrations (Pi, Codex, Claude, Grok, OpenCode, Kilo). Swapping harnesses preserves the existing PTY/shell, terminal session ID, and complete recorded conversation history.
  • Native bypass and auto-approval modes enabled by default for all supported managed harnesses (Claude --dangerously-skip-permissions, Codex --dangerously-bypass-approvals-and-sandbox, Goose auto mode, etc.).
  • Shared atomic native history storage with rollback safety: prepared imports are staged atomically via temporary files and hardlinks; failed transitions rollback to the source session cleanly without data loss.
  • Owned native helper processes and isolation from pane environment variables.
  • Full qualification for Codex 0.164.0 native session history import and resume.

Removed

  • Retired MiniMax Code integration and launch configurations.

Distribution

  • Apple Silicon macOS binary: ohmyherdr-macos-aarch64.
  • Product identity: 0.9.8-ohmyherdr.0.9.8.
  • Private protocol: 22; stable endpoint generation: 1.
  • Source commit: 83baa44.

Updating

  • Publishing this release does not install it or restart any existing runtime.
  • Run ohmyherdr update when ready, then follow the updater's runtime migration guidance.
  • Ohmyherdr updates use merged fork builds; raw upstream Herdr binaries do not replace the fork.

OhMyHerdr 0.9.7 — same-pane native context and Codex restoration

Choose a tag to compare

@chengyixu chengyixu released this 18 Oct 17:15
04ec2e2

Fixed

  • A supported harness switch now replaces the native harness inside the same pane. The pane ID, terminal, original shell, tab, layout and persistent instance stay the same; the client no longer splits a replica or moves the source into a Previous tab.
  • The qualified Pi 1.1 → Codex 0.163.0 adapter imports recorded native message history, full tool arguments/results and images. It retains the original active branch and current source context for recovery instead of sending a 200-line terminal excerpt as a new prompt.
  • Pi's native SDK supplies the active model context. Codex retains the complete recorded history while honoring a separate native compaction checkpoint, including source context exclusions and retained attachments/tool results.
  • Image decoding is checked before source shutdown. Corrupt or unqualified image formats cannot be silently replaced with placeholder text by the target.
  • Codex launches and cold restores use its process-local --no-daemon mode, keeping each pane's runtime and hook environment independent from the shared Codex daemon.
  • Codex session identity is captured even when the native transcript path is null. A current hook script without its actual SessionStart registration is now reported as outdated.
  • Pending replacement snapshots retain the exact source branch until the target commits. A failed target launch restores that branch in the same shell when available.
  • Pane and API input are paused during replacement so agent-directed typing cannot reach the intermediate shell. Other panes remain usable.
  • Older clients are stopped at the legacy context step before creating a split pane; reopen the updated client to use same-pane replacement.
  • Native imports are published atomically and use Codex's own effective provider configuration. The adapter refuses unqualified native versions before source shutdown.

Compatibility

  • Full-history replacement is currently qualified for Pi 1.1 → Codex 0.163.0. Other integration pairs are labeled unavailable and refuse the switch before closing the source. Integration activation alone does not imply native history interchange.
  • Drafts, active/queued work, native confirmations, unknown content, explicit context edits and opaque/redacted reasoning stop export before source shutdown. Context above the 256 MiB exchange limit is rejected without truncation.
  • Original native files remain intact. Source history is retained in private recovery files; source processes exit gracefully as part of an accepted in-place replacement.
  • Apple Silicon macOS is the qualified distribution platform. Private protocol 22 and stable endpoint generation 1 are retained; the new behavior uses additive advertised methods.
  • Registry format 6 records native replacement recovery. Older writers preserve newer registry files rather than modifying them.

Verification

  • Relevant failing reproductions were followed by local unit, integration, contract and native product checks.
  • The actual client endpoint was tested with one pane and one tab, asserting unchanged pane/terminal/tab IDs and the original shell PID.
  • A native Codex model recalled random keys from the oldest source message and the tail of a 30 KiB historical tool result after import.
  • Native request capture verified that precompaction messages and excluded diagnostics stay outside the next model input, while retained full tool output and eight user/tool images across PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF remain present. Native history hydration still exposes the complete earlier history.
  • Native image bytes, draft rejection, source record preservation, failed-launch rollback and exact Codex session restoration after a normal stop/start were verified.

Updating

Publication does not install this release or restart any running server. When ready to update and activate the server runtime:

ohmyherdr update --handoff
ohmyherdr integration install pi
ohmyherdr integration install codex

After updating, detach the older TUI client and reopen ohmyherdr so the client itself is running 0.9.7. Detaching the TUI does not stop the server or its native agent processes. After the server or integration update, run /reload once in each already-running Pi session before using native replacement. This reloads the integration in the current conversation. Review the specific changed Codex SessionStart hook through Codex's native hook-review UI before trusting it. No provider, model or account changes are required.

Source: 04ec2e26606eb8eb180c99cfee0442f50841933d. Local qualification: 3,848 Rust tests, 149 maintenance tests, strict lint, native same-pane/model-context/rollback/restart checks, and two-round CPU checks.

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Oct 22:40
0c0b363

Fixed

  • Live harness switching advertises every required client endpoint method and executes readiness waits through the shared async handler.
  • Saved profile editing remains advertised alongside prompt delivery and terminal reads.
  • Returning to a harness uses recorded exact-instance handoff history, preserving unrelated sibling conversations.
  • Context delivery validates the exact receiver before writing input. Profile-default returns and manually started original sessions reuse their recorded native session.
  • Failed history writes leave the source layout intact; the replacement focus and archive update are reconciled for connected clients.
  • Native confirmations and active turns block context delivery. Droid's folder-trust dialog is detected before any handoff prompt is submitted.
  • Clarified when the installed client is connected to an older server: Integrations now shows a runtime-upgrade notice, highlights the selected hook, and supports mouse-wheel and keyboard navigation on small terminals.
  • The legacy Integrations Enter key installs the selected available hook; the bulk installer remains on the i key.

Changed

  • The pane Harness menu switches immediately into an activated CLI. The new CLI receives saved profile documents and a bounded terminal excerpt as a new conversation.
  • The source agent's original process and native session remain intact in a visibly labeled Previous tab. Returning to a recorded, still-running earlier harness reuses its native session and receives a bounded portable update.
  • The server verifies exact source and replacement identities before it archives the original pane and focuses the ready replacement. An unsuccessful switch leaves the original in place.
  • The new exact instance retains its own harness for revival, independent of the shared profile and sibling agents.

Distribution

  • Apple Silicon macOS binary: ohmyherdr-macos-aarch64.
  • Product identity: 0.9.6-ohmyherdr.0.9.6.
  • Private protocol: 22; stable endpoint generation: 1.
  • Source commit: 0c0b363.

Updating

  • Publishing this release does not install it or restart any existing runtime.
  • Run ohmyherdr update when ready, then follow the updater's runtime migration guidance.
  • Ohmyherdr updates use merged fork builds; raw upstream Herdr binaries do not replace the fork.

OhMyHerdr v0.9.4

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 11 Oct 01:15
cc07263

Fixed

  • Restored saved-agent row clicks to the launch menu: Use space cwd, Use agent native cwd, Native harness, Edit profile, and Delete profile.
  • Fixed Settings spawn/delete shortcuts to follow the activated integration count and return to the agent pane after launching.
  • Pinned saved-agent menu actions to the selected tab and connection; scrollbar clicks do not launch or edit a profile.

Changed

  • Harness pickers and profile controls now consume activated Integration metadata instead of a fixed three-harness list.
  • Expanded the terminal-only harness catalog to 40 tools, with CLI availability and per-tool launch capabilities; desktop/browser tools are excluded.
  • Added persistent integration activation and CLI list/activate/deactivate commands. Deactivation prevents future launches without stopping current processes or deleting profiles and documents.
  • Simplified pane headers to Harness: current-tool; selections still apply to the exact instance's next launch or revival.
  • Integration activation uses registry format 4, which older writers preserve without modifying.

Distribution

  • Apple Silicon macOS binary: ohmyherdr-macos-aarch64.
  • Product identity: 0.9.4-ohmyherdr.0.9.4.
  • Private protocol: 22; stable endpoint generation: 1.

Changed

  • Integrated upstream Herdr v0.9.3 while retaining Ohmyherdr native agent profiles and persistent Markdown context.
  • Added a persistent current-tab Agents view alongside grouped, priority, and saved-profile views.
  • Added per-pane native harness controls that save the exact agent instance's next-revival choice without replacing its running process or changing sibling agents.
  • Moved the profile editor and roster onto the client-owned UI with typed, server-owned persistence APIs.

Distribution

  • Apple Silicon macOS binary: ohmyherdr-macos-aarch64.
