On macOS 26 the app's icon now fills its shape like the system's own apps. It no longer sits small on a grey plate.

The Mac apps are signed and notarized by Apple. The Windows app is not signed yet. The first time you open it, Windows asks: choose More info, then Run anyway.

Already using TextFold 0.10.2? The app offers this version by itself, or check from the menu (TextFold › Check for Updates… on a Mac, Help › Check for Updates… on Windows).

Unchanged apart from its version.

TextFold now comes as an app for macOS and Windows. Everything it needs is inside, Python included, so there is nothing else to install.

What's new

  • The app. It finds Claude Code, Codex or Pi on your computer, or connects a free model in one click. It shares its library with textfold serve, so the papers you read in one are in the other.
  • Updates. The app checks this page for a new version and installs it when you say so. Check any time from the menu (TextFold › Check for Updates… on a Mac, Help › Check for Updates… on Windows) or from Settings.
  • Agents on Windows. TextFold finds Claude Code, Codex and Pi on Windows, installed natively or through npm.
