v0.9.8 - Fix Installation Upgrade Issue
ZimaOS Client v0.9.8 - Fix Installation Upgrade Issue
Critical Bug Fix
Fixed "File Busy" Error During Upgrades
- Issue: When upgrading from v0.9.7, the installation would fail with:
cp: cannot create regular file (busy) - Cause: ZeroTier service was running while trying to overwrite binaries
- Fix: Stop ZeroTier service before copying binaries during installation
This ensures smooth upgrades without manual intervention.
Who Should Upgrade?
If you installed v0.9.7, you should upgrade to v0.9.8:
- The first upgrade may still show the error (stop the service manually)
- Future upgrades will work smoothly
Manual Fix for v0.9.7 Users
If installation fails, run these commands first:
systemctl --user stop zima-zerotier.service
sudo dpkg -i zima-linux-client_0.9.8_amd64.debDownloads
- Debian/Ubuntu Package (.deb): 83MB
- AppImage: 124MB
All Features from v0.9.7
- Universal Linux compatibility (static ZeroTier binaries)
- Works on all distributions (Ubuntu 20.04+, Mint, Debian, Fedora, Arch)
- No GLIBC dependencies
- x64 and ARM64 support
- Fixed app icon display
