Lightkeeper 1.0.0
A calm Home screen for LG TVs on older webOS, made to sit beside GlassHouse.
- The time, the weather for one city and a short row of apps and HDMI inputs over a picture: no ads, no suggestions.
- Opens with the Home key (through GlassHouse's key filter), when the TV switches on, and after Back from the last app.
- Set up from a phone or computer at
http://<tv-address>:8090, with a live preview of the TV: tiles, names or white logos, a device for each HDMI input, nine backgrounds or your own picture, clock, weather, a one-hour screen saver pause, an optional PIN. - Removes itself cleanly and gives the Home key back to LG.
Install: you need root, the Homebrew Channel and GlassHouse already on the TV. Install io.github.chiotas.lightkeeper_1.0.0_all.ipk from GlassHouse's Apps tab (Install app from a URL or file), webOS Dev Manager or ares-install, then open Lightkeeper once: it sets itself up. Step by step in the README.
Tested on an LG OLED C1, webOS 6.5.3, GlassHouse 0.118.0. Written for webOS 4 to 8 and expected to work there, but not tried; see Compatibility. Reports from other TVs are very welcome.
apps.json and lightkeeper.manifest.json describe this release in the Homebrew Channel's catalog format; adding them as a catalog has not been tried yet.
