Frozen artwork fixed. The server now resolves the running game from the OSD's own launch signals, corroborated against an actual core load, instead of trusting /tmp tracker state — which anything on the MiSTer can rewrite. Guards cover system folders, stale mirrors and folder displacement, so a mirrored path can no longer pin the display to the previous game.
Screenshot capture stays responsive during artwork downloads (Tab5 and both 2.8" boards): the HTTP screenshot server is pumped through long transfers instead of timing out.
mix tokens reach the right API.mix1 and mix2 in the media-order keys now map to ScreenScraper's mixrbv1/mixrbv2; plain mix keeps working as an alias of mix2.
New
Version check on screen. The server exposes its version in the snapshot and at /status/version; the firmware shows both versions in the HUD and turns the panel red while they differ. One half updated without the other now announces itself instead of failing silently — and an older server that sends no version keeps the display quiet rather than crying wolf.
flip_display — new [ui] key on all five boards that rotates the panel and the touch layer 180° for cases that hold the board upside down (microSD slot at the bottom, for example). Landscape only, off by default.
Three more systems resolve — Apple Macintosh LC, Nintendo Virtual Boy and the PCXT core's EGA variant now map to their ScreenScraper systems, both on the server and in the firmware's own fallback leg.
Core coverage keeps auditing itself — the weekly bot's CONF_STR mapping proposal was merged with proper display names, and the memtest variants, 3DO and the Paprium/VGMDrive rbf aliases are triaged in known_cores.json.
Notes
Update both halves as usual: firmware from the web flasher, server through Update All / Downloader. If the version panel turns red afterwards, one of the two did not update — that is the new check doing its job.
