v0.1.0
Clean Page is a web page that behaves like a sheet of paper in a typewriter. Open it, type, print, or save to a local file. This is its first release.
What it does
- Writing, and nothing else. A single sheet, a calm page, no chrome competing for attention.
- Prints like paper. What the screen shows is what the printer produces — thirty lines to a sheet, with room left for a printer's unwriteable margin.
- Keeps your work. Drafts are held on your own device and are still there when you come back, with earlier drafts recoverable from Settings.
- Saves and downloads through your browser's own tools, straight to a local file.
- Works offline once it has loaded.
Privacy
Nothing you write leaves your device. Clean Page collects no information of any kind, runs no analytics, and has no server to send anything to. ChirpWater does not monetize your information and could not do so, because it is never collected. See the privacy policy.
Accessibility
- Operable entirely from the keyboard, with screen-reader names on every control and live announcements for save status and page count.
- Follows the text size set in your browser's own settings, and reflows rather than scrolling sideways when zoom narrows the window below the width of a sheet.
- Follows your system's dark mode and its high-contrast display mode. Printing stays black on white either way.
- A dyslexia-friendly typeface alongside the default serif, and three text sizes.
It has not been through a formal accessibility audit, and there are likely rough edges we have not found yet.
Browsers
Built and tuned for Chromebooks; works in any modern browser. Tested against Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit.
