What's New in v0.12.1

Faster on macOS and Windows

  • The launch animation finishes sooner, so the library becomes available faster.
  • Dashboard data, project statistics, and project binder data now load concurrently instead of waiting on sequential database reads.
  • Opening or resuming a project no longer flashes a false empty-binder state while its chapters are loading.
  • Startup no longer runs the same full achievement scan twice.

Safer Backups

  • Resume Writing now performs the same automatic and scheduled backup checks as opening a project normally.
  • A disconnected external backup drive no longer records a false successful-backup timestamp or reports “Backed up 0 projects.”
  • Manual backup failures now show a clear Backup failed — check folder status.

Release Reliability

  • macOS updater metadata and blockmaps are regenerated after the final app re-signing step, ensuring auto-update checksums match the published DMGs.
  • Release builds now fail immediately on build errors or missing artifacts instead of risking stale installer uploads.
