BellPad 0.2.2 for iPhone, iPad and now Mac. This release contains no app: you build your own with PadMint on an Apple Silicon Mac, from your own game file.

What's new

  • Build BellPad for this Mac. PadMint 0.5.5 or newer can make Bellpad.app as well as the iPhone/iPad IPA: choose BellPad, then This Mac. It opens with a disc picker for your own Animal Crossing (GAFE01) disc image.
  • The Mac app now carries BellPad's real version (it said 0.1.0).

Get it

Open PadMint, choose BellPad and follow the page. You need brew install cmake ninja ripgrep sdl2 once. The full steps are in the README. Already have BellPad on your iPhone or iPad? Install the new copy over it with the same tool and Apple ID; your saves stay.

Files

  • BellPad-v0.2.2-padmint.json: the recipe PadMint follows for this version.
  • SHA256SUMS: its checksum.

Checked: a clean PadMint build of the Mac app (Apple's Python, empty PadMint folder) reached the title screen at 60 FPS. The iPhone/iPad recipe is unchanged apart from the version.

BellPad 0.2.1 for iPhone and iPad. Like 0.2.0, this release contains no app: BellPad is compiled from the Animal Crossing decompilation, so you make your own with PadMint on an Apple Silicon Mac, and you add your own Animal Crossing game data in the app.

What's new

  • Clean 1:1 dumps now import. BellPad's disc check only recognised a trimmed copy, so an untouched dump that matches Redump (GAFE01 Rev 0, SHA-1 2d2b1fa3883f49af779ce9ca133db3be17be8f32) was rejected with "does not match the supported revision's content fingerprint" (#12). Full-size images are now accepted by that SHA-1. Trimmed copies that already worked still do.
  • Clearer messages when an image is the wrong size or doesn't match.

RVZ, CISO and NKit files still need converting back to a plain ISO first (Dolphin's Convert File does this).

Get it

  1. On a Mac with Xcode, install the build libraries once: brew install cmake ninja ripgrep sdl2
  2. Download PadMint, unzip it, double-click PadMint.command and choose BellPad. It builds BellPad 0.2.1 from this release and saves an unsigned IPA in the folder you choose.
  3. Install the IPA with AltStore Classic, SideStore or Sideloadly, then add your Animal Crossing game data in the app (setup). Updating over 0.2.0 with the same account keeps your town.

Files

  • BellPad-v0.2.1-padmint.json: the recipe PadMint follows for this version.
  • SHA256SUMS: its checksum.
