KartPad v0.3.0-preview.1
Pre-releaseKartPad v0.3.0-preview.1
Retro Rewind is now a major, first-class part of KartPad. This preview opens
with a dual-mode launcher for Original Mario Kart Wii or Retro Rewind and adds
the complete official-pack installation flow tested on a physical iPad.
Retro Rewind
- Choose Original Mario Kart Wii or Retro Rewind from the new opening screen.
- Download the official version-locked Retro Rewind 6.12.4 full pack directly
through KartPad. - Verify the pack's exact size and SHA-256 identity before installation.
- Install atomically so an interrupted or invalid install cannot replace the
last working game data. - Check Retro Rewind's official version feed before launch and request a
compatible KartPad update when the ahead-of-time content profile changes. - Launch the installed pack only after its version and critical files pass the
current build's integrity checks.
Accepted on physical iPad
- The full official pack downloaded, verified, and installed without a crash.
- Retro Rewind launched successfully and reached a playable single-player
match. - The 0.3.0 build installs in place without removing existing KartPad data.
- The dual-mode chooser uses the full iPad width, and Multiplayer guidance has
a visible Back action.
KartPad interface polish
- Replaced remaining SunPad product wording with KartPad.
- Removed obsolete experimental performance and 60 FPS menu rows.
- Moved Report a Problem into the visible main menu and linked it to KartPad's
GitHub issue tracker. - Fixed the three-dot menu icon disappearing briefly after dismissal.
- Reframed Multiplayer around Retro Rewind, since Nintendo's original WFC
service is no longer available.
Online status
KartPad's online-capable graph passes login, matchmaking, a complete two-player
race, results, ratings, and lobby return against a compatible isolated WFC
service. Retro WFC, the public online service used by Retro Rewind, is currently
in maintenance and expected to remain unavailable for a period of time. Live
public online play therefore cannot be accepted until that external service
returns. This does not block Retro Rewind installation, launch, or offline play.
Installation
The IPA is unsigned and must be re-signed before installation. Supply your own
legally obtained supported PAL RMCP01 revision 0 WBFS/ISO on first launch.
Updating in place with the same bundle identifier and signing identity is the
safest way to preserve installed game data and saves.
Distribution boundary
The IPA contains ahead-of-time translated game logic but no disc image,
extracted courses, textures, audio, Retro Rewind pack, saves, Apple signing
identity, or provisioning profile. This is a free, unofficial community preview
with unresolved upstream and game-code redistribution rights. See
RIGHTS_AND_LICENSES.md before redistributing or expanding its release channel.
Do not upload game images, extracted game data, Retro Rewind installations,
saves, signing credentials, or device containers when requesting support.
