v0.1.2

Separate the scroll-wheel DPI indicator from the bottom RGB lighting, support shortened stage lists without stopping color following, and add stage reordering.

  • Label custom colors as bottom RGB. Show the wheel's built-in stage colors separately; custom bottom colors cannot change the wheel indicator. No supported wheel-palette command has been established for this model.
  • Keep following status when firmware reports a removed stage after reducing the profile to 1–3 stages. Skip color writes until a configured stage is active, then resume automatically without repeating lighting setup.
  • Add up/down stage controls. DPI values and custom bottom colors move together; wheel colors remain attached to numbered slots.
  • Preserve saved custom bottom colors visibly while linking is off.
  • Support GTK 4.6–4.8 with compatible color and confirmation dialogs. Discover permission tools through PATH, use a POSIX launcher, and retain standard X11/Wayland and XDG integration.
  • Verify 18 complete DPI packets against the original executable, including one-, two-, and three-stage profiles in arbitrary order. Add CI coverage for Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, and Fedora 44, alongside the Ubuntu 24.04 package build.

Validation: 39 unit tests, GTK interaction checks including the older dialog implementations, and Linux package checks. Compatibility checks passed on Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 44, and Ubuntu 24.04. A live status capture confirmed the physical three-stage cycle: 1 → 2 → 3 → 1 → 2 → 3 → 1.

Known limitations: custom scroll-wheel colors remain unsupported, and exact high-DPI accuracy and the reported intermittent sensitivity behavior remain unresolved. The app requires Python 3.10+, PyGObject, GTK 4.6+, libadwaita, and normal Linux USB permissions.

v0.1.1

This release corrects DPI stage color mapping and the first linked color after Apply, clarifies Sniper action, and adds checks against the original Windows executable.

  • Show the wired mouse's default stage colors in the correct order: red, green, blue, cyan, yellow, purple. Enable DPI linking to edit custom colors; saved custom colors are retained while linking is off.
  • Read the active stage again after lighting setup, which can reset the mouse's stage. Fill all eight lighting palette slots with the active linked color; later stage changes send only color data.
  • Show the DPI button's assignment on the DPI page and describe Sniper action as lowering sensitivity while held.
  • Verify twelve complete DPI packets against the original executable's embedded QML and machine code. DPI values are absolute and do not scale against the highest configured stage.
  • Add a source-checkout raw-motion diagnostic and document live measurements.

Known limitations: the 12000-DPI motion estimate fell below its configured target, and the reported intermittent sensitivity behavior remains unresolved. DPI encoding was not changed based on an unverified correction factor. The revised linked palette still needs a visible check on the physical mouse; LED colors cannot be read back.

Validation: 35 unit tests, GTK interaction checks, and Linux package checks. Downloads include the portable Linux archive, Debian package, and SHA256 checksums.

Pulsar 3 Studio v0.1.0

v0.1.0
92167b7

Pulsar 3 Studio brings native Linux configuration to the HATOR Pulsar 3 wired mouse (USB 379a:3910).

Downloads

  • Ubuntu 24.04+ / compatible Debian systems: install pulsar3-studio_0.1.0_all.deb using sudo apt install ./pulsar3-studio_0.1.0_all.deb.
  • Arch / Omarchy / other Linux distributions: extract pulsar3-studio-0.1.0-linux.tar.gz, install the Python/GTK dependencies listed in the README, and run ./pulsar3-gui.
  • Checksums: verify the downloaded application packages with sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS.

The Linux archive uses system Python and GTK; it is not a self-contained AppImage. Use the named application downloads above for running the app. GitHub's “Source code” downloads contain the complete repository, including the original Windows installer kept for research.

Included

  • GTK4 interface with DPI stages, polling, RGB lighting, and six-button remapping.
  • Keyboard shortcuts, custom macro event editing, and focused keyboard recording.
  • Local profiles, a CLI, and graphical temporary device-access authorization.
  • Interface screenshots, setup instructions, MIT licensing for the Linux project, and the original installer with its checksum and separate ownership notice.

Validation and limits

The build runs 20 tests, installs the generated Debian package, and exercises the installed GUI offline. Native status and polling/lighting round trips have been checked on a supported mouse. Full settings readback is unavailable, and macro playback and some non-default actions/effects still need hardware testing.

This is an independent community project. The application configures settings; it does not replace mouse firmware.
