I'm nervous about accuracy of machine translation, so I probably won't add a feature like that as described. If you can't understand anything yet, it might be better to read something easier for now, or watch anime or something with Japanese subtitles. What I might add eventually, if I can get the quality to be good enough, is a function that uses AI to explain the sentence in either your native language or simple Japanese in a consistent way that helps you learn. This would have to use the on-device AI for privacy, and it might not yet be capable enough yet. But I haven't tested the iOS 27 version of Foundation Models (Apple's on-device AI) yet, maybe it's already good enough. |

The translation seems pretty accurate to me, and your app is the most convenient way I’ve found to read/translate manga: it’s much easier than mokuro and a web browser (and highlighting the OCRed text and sending it to Google translate.) I appreciate the work you’ve put into it. It’s far better than anything else I’ve found.
Perhaps I’ll take a crack at adding that feature myself: it would save me a lot of extra taps! I’ll let you know if I do that.

My Japanese isn't very good, and I can receive a translation for every word in a sentence and still have no idea what the sentence means. So I find myself frequently
This is 2 or 3 taps too many! I really want a "send this entire text box to translate" button in the toolbar.

And it should translate the edited text in Edit mode, if it's been edited.

Is that possible? That'd save me so much time! Thanks for making such a great app!
