Releases: claudioguareschi/opnsense-dashboard-plus

v0.63

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 11 Oct 12:57

Improved

  • Firewall Map+: every connection is shown as belonging to whoever made it. The firewall's own traffic, such as a site-to-site VPN tunnel, and each device's traffic to the same address are now separate, so a device is no longer credited with the firewall's traffic. When several connections go to one address, the details panel lets you pick one.

Fixed

  • Firewall Map+: IPv6 connections can be clicked and hovered again. Since 0.61 they started at the same place as IPv4 and were drawn exactly underneath the IPv4 lines.
  • Firewall Map+: Investigate finds the registry record (RDAP) of IPv6 addresses again, and names the owner organization rather than a contact person.
  • Firewall Map+: a collector left over from an older version is reported on the Status page as incompatible, with a request to reinstall, instead of failing over and over.

Dashboard Plus and VNStat Traffic+ are unchanged apart from the version.

Install or update: see the README's Install section. The packages are signed with the attached dashboard-plus-repository.pub.

v0.62

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 11 Oct 01:53

New

  • CARP+ widget: your high-availability setup at a glance. See whether this firewall is master or backup, whether it hears the other firewall, whether connections and settings are syncing, the recent failovers, and every virtual IP.
  • ZFS in System Information+: each pool's layout, health, errors, used space and last scrub.

Improved

  • Lighter dashboard: Dashboard Plus now uses about a quarter of the CPU it did before, even with every widget open.
  • One look for status: Interfaces+, Gateways+, Services+, CARP+ and Firewall Map+ share the same status badge, in your theme's colors.
  • Interfaces+ has a cleaner layout: addresses, link speed, MAC address and status.
  • Services+ and DNS Health+ line up better, and DNS Health+ fits long IPv6 addresses.
  • Firewall Map+ shows a simpler loading screen.

Fixed

  • Firewall Map+ widget no longer shows two loading spinners at once.

VNStat Traffic+ is unchanged apart from the version.

Install or update: see the README's Install section. The packages are signed with the attached dashboard-plus-repository.pub.

v0.61

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 10 Oct 15:09

Fixed

  • Firewall Map+: investigating an IPv6 address works again.
  • Firewall Map+: a firewall with both IPv4 and IPv6 no longer appears in two places on the map. A new IPv6 location setting lets you choose how IPv6 is placed.

Dashboard Plus and VNStat Traffic+ are unchanged apart from the version.

Install or update: see the README's Install section. The packages are signed with the attached dashboard-plus-repository.pub.

v0.60

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 10 Oct 00:55

New

  • Firewall Map+: a visual editor for ranking profiles, which decide what the map shows first.
  • Firewall Map+: connections are labeled with the country blocklists (your GeoIP aliases) they belong to.
  • Firewall Map+: choose how many connections the map draws, from 25 to 1000.

Improved

  • Firewall Map+: the settings page is organized into tabs and supports OPNsense's advanced mode.
  • Firewall Map+: the map and widget adjust how often they refresh.
  • Firewall Map+: the background data collector was hardened after a security review.
  • VNStat Traffic+ follows your theme's colors and its chart uses the full width.
  • QuickAssist+: the live chart scrolls smoothly.

Fixed

  • Firewall Map+: investigating an IPv6 address works again, and a dual-stack firewall appears in one place on the map (the republished 0.60 package).

Install or update: see the README's Install section. The packages are signed with the attached dashboard-plus-repository.pub.

v0.59

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 05 Oct 14:00

Improved

  • Firewall Map+: shared incident snapshots keep all their details, but the captured connection list is shown only to users allowed to view firewall states (Diagnostics: Show States).

Install or update: see the README's Install section. The packages are signed with the attached dashboard-plus-repository.pub.

v0.58

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 05 Oct 04:46

Includes 0.57, which had no separate release.

New

  • QuickAssist+ widget: a live view of Intel QuickAssist (QAT) hardware, with an activity graph, its health and what it accelerates.

Improved

  • QuickAssist+: steadier numbers and more detail about the hardware's capabilities.
  • Firewall Map+: devices on your network get names even when DHCP runs on another server, using the existing hostname lookup option. Names from DHCP still come first, and a name expires quickly when its address is given to another device.

Install or update: see the README's Install section. The packages are signed with the attached dashboard-plus-repository.pub.

v0.56

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 05 Oct 03:04

Improved

  • Documentation: the README explains Firewall Map+ snapshots and covers all three packages.
  • More automated testing for DNS Health+, Services+ and VNStat Traffic+.

No functional changes.

Install or update: see the README's Install section. The packages are signed with the attached dashboard-plus-repository.pub.

v0.55

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 04 Oct 23:39

New

  • DNS Health+ widget: Unbound's status, live query rate, cache hit rate and DNS blocklist totals.
  • Services+ widget: search and filter your services, and start, stop or restart them from the dashboard.
  • Firewall Map+ snapshots: save the map with the camera button, browse saved snapshots on a timeline, and review what was connected at that moment.
  • VNStat Traffic+: first release. It needs OPNsense's official os-vnstat plugin.

Improved

  • Firewall Map+ works behind double NAT, such as a firewall behind an ISP router. You can place the firewall on the map yourself or let it find its location.

Install or update: see the README's Install section. The packages are signed with the attached dashboard-plus-repository.pub.

v0.53

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 04 Oct 13:33

Includes 0.51 and 0.52, which had no separate releases.

New

  • Firewall Map+ has its own pages under Reporting ▸ Firewall Map: Map, Settings, Status (collector, geolocation database and feeds, with Update now) and Log File.
  • System Information+: choose which sections to show, and drag them into any order.
  • Interfaces+ and Interface Statistics+: choose how often they refresh.

Improved

  • Lighter dashboard: widgets share their data, read slow-changing numbers once a minute, and pause while their browser tab is hidden.
  • Firewall Map+ uses about a third of the CPU per update, and the Status page shows how long the last update took.
  • Firewall Map+ maps only as many connections as the firewall's memory allows, and says so when it reaches that limit.
  • Dashboard Plus follows your theme's colors.
  • Firewall Map+ keeps reviewed and dismissed threats (up to 1,000).

Fixed

  • Users with only the map permission now see live data, not just administrators.
  • The map page shows only the actions you are allowed to use.
  • A stuck geolocation download restarts by itself.
  • A damaged geolocation or settings file no longer stops the map.
  • Translated text shows correctly, without stray codes such as '.

Note for administrators

The Dashboard Plus permission now covers only the plugin's own data. Non-admin users also need the matching OPNsense permissions for widgets that show firewall, gateway or interface data.

Install or update: see the README's Install section. The packages are signed with the attached dashboard-plus-repository.pub.

0.50 (first beta)

Choose a tag to compare

@claudioguareschi claudioguareschi released this 02 Oct 18:02

First public beta for OPNsense 26.7 (amd64). Dashboard Plus and Firewall Map+ share one version number and are released together.

New

  • Dashboard Plus: eight extended dashboard widgets: System Information+, Traffic Graph+, System Metrics+, Thermal Sensors+, Interface Statistics+, Gateways+, Interfaces+ and Firewall Logs+.
  • Firewall Map+: live firewall traffic on a world map, with known-bad addresses flagged.
  • Signed package repository: updates arrive with normal OPNsense firmware updates.

Install

Add the signed package repository:

fetch -qo - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/claudioguareschi/opnsense-dashboard-plus/packages/install.sh | sh
