I think @borkdude mentioned somewhere recently that cider-nrepl works fine with babashka these days, but I haven't checked this myself yet. Will investigate! |

@martianhi Just FMI, what version of bb are you using? I can look into this, but not sure if I can fix it :) |

hi Bozhidar, hi Michiel,
thanks for your responses.
bb v1.13.219.
i was just curious about this, as bb seems like not a bad way to
learn some basic clojure stuff, and i was dreaming of the step
debugger helping me learn. :)
Bozhidar, if bb accepts cider-nrepl in bb.edn, do i need to do
anything further to get tracing to work? it complains the relevant
op is missing.

CIDER debugger should work now with dev build: Please test |

i tried it out, and it works for me too (on debian), thanks a lot.
2 tiny tihngs i noticed (not sure if relevant):
- there's no box around the instrumented function as usually
- if i start bb with `/tmp/bb --nrepl-server` then connect to it
with cider-connect-clj, i get a version mismatch error regarding
cider-nrepl. if i start it with cider-jack-in, it seems to pick
up the cider-nrepl version mentioned in bb.edn.
as i said, i'm new to bb and haven't messed with cider-nrepl in
ages, so also poss that i don't know what i'm doing.

again i'm not sure if this is due to user incompetence, but i have
noticed that often (always?) in babashka repls using cider, that
docs lookup is only half-working. e.g. ciderdoc (C-c C-d d) will
not work at all for "do", and it will work for "cond", but won't
show any clojure docs examples.
if i load same project with a lein repl, those two things work.

Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
hi cider team,
i'm trying to run the cider debugger in a babashka script and it errors with the dreaded
java.lang.Exception: No reader function for tag dbg(e.g. #1359, etc.). i'm not using boot so i can't benefit from the common workaround.i'm new to babashka and still getting my head around clojure tooling. should the cider debugger actually work with babashka?
i also get an error when i try to trace a function with cider:
is it possible to load cider-nrepl in a babashka script project or are they mutually exclusive?
