Fixes the integration failing to load on Home Assistant 2026.10.
Why it happened
HA 2026.10.0 pins av==19.0.0 (2026.9.x shipped 17.0.1). This integration required aiortc>=1.15.0, and
the latest aiortc (1.15.0) only accepts av<18. With no way to satisfy both, HA refused to set up the whole
integration — live view included.
The error is logged by homeassistant.setup / homeassistant.requirements ("Requirements for
ring_intercom_camera not found"), not under this component's logger, so filtering the logs by
ring_intercom_camera showed nothing.
What changed
aiortcis no longer a requirement, so the integration loads again on 2026.10.- Live view and two-way audio work as before. They never used aiortc — the browser does the WebRTC.
- Server-side snapshots (
camera.snapshot) are temporarily unavailable on HA 2026.10+. They need
aiortc, which can't be installed next to HA's PyAV 19 until aiortc publishes a release that accepts it
(aiortc#1447 is open). When that ships, aiortc goes back
into the requirements and snapshots return with no action needed on your side. Nothing is ever
installed at runtime.
Docs
- Troubleshooting for the 2026.10 setup failure, and for missing ding events when the Ring app doesn't
notify either. - Example automation: ding → phone notification → if no live session, snapshot → Telegram.
- The ding trigger now references
event.<intercom>_ding— the dingbinary_sensoris deprecated in the
official Ring integration.
Verification
Static checks only (manifest parses, code compiles); not yet run on a live HA 2026.10 instance. If it
still fails to load for you, please open an issue with the homeassistant.setup log lines.
