v0.1.0 — limited technical preview
Qdrant Memory for Hermes — v0.1.0 (limited technical preview)
Durable, private long-term memory for Hermes Agent: your conversations become
searchable memories in your own Qdrant store, with recall, update and scoped
deletion under your control.
Status: limited technical preview. One writer per destination, with the
documented durability limits. This is not a public beta, and these results do
not claim broad production maturity.
Re-published on 2026-10-09 from the re-publication record commit; this
release includes the post-release scoped-deletion hardening, the CodeQL and
Dependabot CI additions and the documentation updates, each validated by its
own pull-request gates.
Release provenance: the original certification was recorded in
d50f2cc5c4704a9204596e81e4192fa58da5f500 (certified revision
112e403c414f90905325322bab135493a0b03b85); this release is published from
5babd3e4b4c022aad38a2b6db82cbd5b601f1ef8, which includes the
public-introduction documentation updates, the install-ref fix, and the
demo recording with scripts/demo.sh.
Install
Recommended, through the Hermes CLI (pinned release):
hermes plugins install https://github.com/cnkang/hermes-plugin-qdrant-memory \
--ref 5babd3e4b4c022aad38a2b6db82cbd5b601f1ef8 # v0.1.0 release commit
hermes plugins enable qdrant-memory
hermes memory setup
hermes config set memory.provider qdrant-memory
hermes qdrant-memory initOr clone the tag:
export HERMES_HOME="/absolute/path/to/your/hermes-profile"
mkdir -p "$HERMES_HOME/plugins"
git clone --branch v0.1.0 --depth 1 \
https://github.com/cnkang/hermes-plugin-qdrant-memory.git \
"$HERMES_HOME/plugins/qdrant-memory"hermes memory setup prepares declared dependencies through Hermes PM. The
default embedding model is Ollama qwen3-embedding:4b (2560 dimensions).
Highlights
- Durable native
MemoryProvider: turn persistence to a private SQLite WAL
ledger, serialized writes, cached session recall and builtin-memory mirroring. - Scoped storage (user/agent), exact-ID update/delete, and commit-time delete
fences that stop stale prepared writes from resurrecting deleted memories. - Bounded replay and recovery: ledger replay in bounded memory (0–100,000 rows;
see the recovery benchmark), interrupted reset recovery, and migration
terminal-state accounting (migration_incomplete/migration_superseded). - Read-only Mem0 migration: JSON and Qdrant sources, dry runs, resumable
manifests, and exact ID/scope/payload-hash verification. - Memory inventory and lifecycle: read-only
list, streaming portableexport
(Mem0-importable JSON), and durabledelete-all— one scope or--all-agents
— with reset-style intent, prepared-write and pending-event invalidation, and
fail-closed recovery. - Agent tools
qdrant_memory_search,qdrant_memory_add,qdrant_memory_update,
qdrant_memory_delete; maintenance CLIstatus,init,doctor,stats,
verify,retry,list,export,delete-all.

Release certification
The scoped-deletion hardening merged as
112e403c414f90905325322bab135493a0b03b85; the gates on that commit passed on
2026-10-09:
CI,
six platform jobs
and authenticated Cloud integration.
The original certification was recorded on the documentation commit
d50f2cc5c4704a9204596e81e4192fa58da5f500; the v0.1.0 tag now points at
the current release commit (d3db971ecfcd9e26caf97908bf4dd093d403f70f),
which includes the post-release scoped-deletion hardening, the CI additions
and the public-introduction documentation updates.

Known limitations
- Writer coordination is local to a profile home; run one writer per destination
across all profiles and hosts. Server/Cloud multi-writer is not supported. - Turn durability starts when Hermes admits the provider callback; earlier
host-queue loss is outside the plugin's boundary. - SQLite ledger history and migration manifests grow on disk; logical scrubbing
is not physical secure erasure — plan capacity, backups and retention. - Retrieval is dense-only (no hybrid, rerank, or vector reuse); reported quality
figures are synthetic regression baselines, not production recall claims. - Embedded Qdrant permits a single client process: stop the agent before
maintenance commands. - Slow local models can exceed the auxiliary-call timeout for memory
extraction; raiseauxiliary.qdrant_memory_extraction.timeoutand requeue
timed-out work withhermes qdrant-memory retry. - Inventory and export are CLI-only (
list,export); there is no graphical
UI for stored memories.
