FastPad is a startup-latency-first text editor for Windows 10 and 11
(x64): a native Win32 app in
Rust on Scintilla and Lexilla, with no UI framework, no browser
runtime, no background service and
no network access. The window takes typing before settings, file
loading, syntax highlighting and
crash recovery have finished.

Install

Method How
Installer FastPad-0.1.0-windows-x64-setup.exe: per-user, no administrator prompt
Portable FastPad-0.1.0-windows-x64.zip: extract anywhere and run FastPad.exe
Scoop scoop bucket add fastpad https://github.com/coccor/FastPad then scoop install fastpad/fastpad
winget winget install coccor.FastPad (once the package is accepted into winget-pkgs)

Verify downloads against SHA256SUMS.txt.

This first release is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen
may show "Windows protected your
PC". Choose More info > Run anyway.
