Manage multiple servers

I already use cockpit on an ubuntu 24.04 lts for some time now and i manage multiple servers. Now i installed Cockpit on ubuntu 26.04 mainly because of support for the cockpit-files plugin which is really handy. But the issue is that i cannot manage external machines anymore. The drop down on the top left is just gone.

Here is the old cockpit as a reference:

In the dropdown, i would add new servers and hope between systems.

I use:

Not sure if this has anything to do with ubuntu itself or if this is a cockpit related issue. Any help is appreciated.

Found a solution that brings back the dropdown menu:
create a new file in: /etc/cockpit/cockpit.conf

and add following content:

[WebService]
AllowMultiHost=yes

Restart cockpit and there you go, the dropdown menu is back. I think the official solution would be to use a desktop client software for this. But i installed the cockpit to have a web interface to begin with. Dont want to deal with oldschool desktop tools if there is a web based alternative available.
