Album pages, a real playback queue, and a sleep timer land alongside playlist management and a round of app wide polish. Playlists can now be edited and deleted instead of being permanent once created, downloaded songs finally have a discoverable way to remove them, and the app now points to Resona's Discord community from both Settings and the update banner.

Highlights

Albums now have their own page, opened from a track's album art or a search result, showing the full cover art and tracklist. Artist pages got a matching rework. Now Playing gained its own Queue tab to see and manage what plays next, shuffle and repeat toggles, and a sleep timer that can stop playback after a set time or at the end of the current track.

Now Playing and the mini player can both be swiped down to dismiss with one hand, springing back if the swipe does not go far enough. Search results now include matching artists alongside songs, tap one to open its page, and scrolling to the bottom of a long result list loads more automatically.

You can now remove a single song from a playlist or delete the whole playlist, both from the playlist's own screen. These actions only apply to playlists created on this device, since a YouTube Music Featured Playlist stays read only.

Settings has a new Discord entry so you can report bugs or request features directly, and the same link now appears on the update banner alongside an invitation to join the community. The invite is fetched from a small file in this repo rather than hardcoded, so changing servers in the future does not require shipping a new build.

The playlist grid on the Library screen no longer centers a lone leftover card when the count is odd, and playlist names now wrap across two lines instead of being cut short with an ellipsis. Creating a playlist also caps the name length so it stays readable in that grid.

Downloaded songs now have a clear remove option in a menu. The previous design relied on tapping the same checkmark icon that indicated a song was downloaded, which gave no visual hint it could also delete the file.

Switching between the Home, Search, and Library tabs now uses a quick cross fade instead of the slower directional slide carried over from screen to screen navigation, and the floating pill's own resize and color animation was retimed so the whole tab switch settles together instead of looking like a hard cut partway through. The app also does less unnecessary work while a song is playing, so the rest of the interface stays smoother instead of quietly competing with playback for every frame.

Known Issues

Voice search is speech to text, meant for saying a song or artist name, not melody or humming recognition. That would need a paid third party audio fingerprint service not included in this app.

A major visual overhaul since v1.3.1: a complete UI redesign around a dynamic accent pulled from album art, a new Settings screen, reliable voice search, and the ability to download APKs directly from the update banner.

• Dynamic accent from album art: Home, Library, Search, and Now Playing screens now share a floating pill bottom nav whose active tab and accent colors are derived from the currently playing track's album art, falling back to black/white when nothing is playing.
• Shared top bar: Home, Library, and Search now share a unified top bar with logo, downloads, settings, and voice search access.
• New Settings screen: a full About section and a Developers section that pulls real contributor avatars from the GitHub API, with bots and AI accounts filtered out.
• Voice search rebuilt: voice search now uses SpeechRecognizer directly instead of handing off to the system UI, with Resona's own listening overlay featuring pulsing rings in the current accent color, a live transcript, and immediate feedback on tap including failure states.
• Improved search: Search now shows real Trending/Suggested shelves sourced from the same feed Home uses, replacing static mock data.
• Larger artist pages: Artist detail screens now show up to 20 songs instead of 5.
• Direct APK download: the "new version available" banner now has a Download button that fetches the APK straight from the GitHub release via the system download manager, no browser trip required.
• Dark-only: the light theme has been removed; the app is now dark-only with no in-app theme toggle.
• Typography rebuilt: Montserrat (stretched display voice) and Roboto Flex (everything else), both bundled locally. Fixed a pre-existing bug where Montserrat's weight axis silently rendered every requested weight as Thin.
• Commits are now SSH-signed and show GitHub's Verified badge.

This release is mostly about reliability. Songs now play all the way through instead of stopping partway, seeking to any point in a song actually works, and downloads finish completely instead of cutting off. Alongside that: a redesigned bottom nav, playlist importing straight from a YouTube URL, search history, and Resona will now let you know right in the app when a new release is out.

Published as 1.3.1 instead of 1.3.0. The original tag ran into a naming conflict on GitHub's side before it could be finalized, so the version moved forward rather than trying to reuse it. No functional difference from what 1.3.0 would have been.

Highlights

• Playback reliability was tracked down to its actual root cause: which YouTube client identity resolved the stream. Songs used to stop partway through, seeking snapped back to the start, and downloads never finished. Switching to a client that isn't cut off partway through a file fixed all three, confirmed by playing a track continuously for minutes straight through the point that used to fail, seeking far ahead of what was buffered, and completing a full download in one pass.
• The bottom navigation was redesigned as a floating, morphing pill bar with a smooth show and hide animation instead of a hard cut.
• Playlists can now be imported straight from a YouTube URL. Paste the link into the Library to bring it in.
• Search history is now saved and quickly reachable from the Search screen.
• Add to playlist and Share are both wired up from the Now Playing screen's overflow menu.
• Resona now checks for new releases and shows a dismissible banner on Home when one is out, linking straight to the release.

Fixes

• Skipping to the next or previous track no longer gets silently undone by a leftover retry scheduled a moment earlier.
• Seeking responds faster, and playback starts sooner after tapping a song.
• A visitor identity rejected by the CDN no longer permanently locks a track out of the clients that actually work.
• Blank artist names in Recommended For You now backfill correctly.
• Typography consolidated onto the app's own named type styles.

New release: the Stats and History tabs are now backed by your real, on-device listening history instead of sample data: with listening streaks, top artists/tracks, and per-day playback stats.

Highlights

• Real play history: the History tab now shows your actual listening history, ordered most-recent-first with relative timestamps ("Just now", "18m ago", "Yesterday"), and auto-refreshes every minute. Tapping any entry plays it.
• Live listening stats: the Stats tab now computes real numbers from your history: total plays, listening time today / this week / all time, unique tracks and artists, your top 5 artists and top 5 tracks, and your current day streak.
• Day streak tracking: a streak counter that counts consecutive days (back to yesterday) on which you listened to something.
• Empty state: Statistics and History show a friendly "No listening history yet" message before your first play.
• Backward-compatible history: history recorded by older builds still loads and counts toward totals; only time-based stats skip legacy entries.

Fixes

• Shrunk the launcher icon glyph by 25% so it no longer overflows the adaptive-icon mask.

  pick up colors from the current track's artwork. The rest of the app (Home, Library,
  Search) stays exactly as monochrome as it always was.
• Redesigned lyrics view: synced lyrics now scroll as a centered, continuous carousel:
  the current line front and center, nearby lines fading in and out above and below.
• Faster, more reliable playback: stream resolution now takes a single request in the
  common case instead of a three-step crawl, and a learned visitor token persists across
  launches so cold starts no longer fail when YouTube's bot-gate blocks the first attempt.

Fixes

• Fixed a bug where direct (non-throttled) stream URLs were incorrectly run through the
  signature-descrambling transform, corrupting playback for some tracks.
