OMO 5.0.0-beta.44 — hotfix: Codex install works again

beta.43 could not install its Codex plugin from npm. This release fixes both published packages and adds the guards that would have caught it before publish. Engine: senpi 2026.9.5-3 (beta.43 shipped 2026.9.5; #7819).

The install failure, fixed

  • oh-my-openagent@5.0.0-beta.43 died at npm run sync:skills because the published tarball did not carry packages/prompts-core/prompts/ultrawork/codex.md, the canonical ultrawork directive the Codex cache install reads. The root files allowlist now ships it (#7835, thanks @LilMGenius) and the pre-publish payload verifier refuses a payload without it (#7836).
  • lazycodex-ai@5.0.0-beta.43 died at the same step because the curated lazycodex files list lacked packages/shared-skills/skill-source-filter.mjs. The list is fixed and the verifier now requires every shared-skills runtime export target (#7813).
  • Both packages would have failed again on dev — the shared-skills imports in sync-skills.mjs had been changed (#7814) to checkout-relative paths that do not exist once the installer flattens plugin/ into <CODEX_HOME>/plugins/cache/<marketplace>/omo/<version>. Restored to the package specifier the installer's file: link resolves, with a regression test that runs sync-skills inside a reproduction of that cache layout (#7848).
  • The skipped OMO SOT seed/migration warning is gone: the installer no longer spawns a migration script that was removed from the payload (#7837).
  • A failed Codex half now tells you how to retry it (bunx oh-my-openagent install --platform=codex) instead of ending on a success banner (#7845).

Release-pipeline hardening

  • The published-package smoke job actually installs both payloads through installMarketplaceLocally instead of dry-running (#7839).
  • The payload verifier reads both npm 11 and npm 12 npm pack --json shapes (#7840) and spawns npm through a shell on Windows so the gate can run locally there (#7844).

Also since beta.43

  • Memory: the reflection payload is bounded and routed around context-window overflow (#7842); memorian nudges are triggered and delivered at tool-call boundaries (#7843, #7846).
  • ulw-loop footer refresh, x-search abort, and batch progress state (#7822); Luna / Luna Fast aligned with their 1M context (#7826); compaction-timeout admission overlap prevented in omo-opencode (#7824); repeated senpi runtime access errors suppressed (#7834); LSP push-diagnostics fallback tests synchronized (#7812); category docs aligned with the shipped chains (#7821).
npm i -g omo-ai@beta
bunx oh-my-openagent@5.0.0-beta.44 install
bunx lazycodex-ai@5.0.0-beta.44 install

Both published packages were installed into a fresh CODEX_HOME on a clean Linux box (bun 1.4.0 / node 24) right after publish, through bunx <pkg>@5.0.0-beta.44 install --platform=codex --no-tui --codex-autonomous and through installMarketplaceLocally directly: exit 0, sync:skills clean, 26 skills synced, no skipped OMO SOT seed/migration line. An independent macOS/arm64 isolated-HOME install of both packages passed as well. Details on #7835.
