Welcome to the MaplatCore Wiki. This is the long-form reading area for the MaplatCore library — tutorials, concept articles, FAQ, and gallery live here.
MaplatCore is the core library of the Maplat Historical Map / Illustrated Map Viewer. It transforms each map's coordinates with a nonlinear but homeomorphic projection, so maps can collaborate with GPS and accurate modern maps without distorting the original images. The end-user viewer built on top of it is Maplat; the data authoring tool is MaplatEditor.
For the latest install steps, version info, badges, and license, please see the README first. This Wiki holds the release-independent material that grows between releases (ADR-0012).
