VaultTune v1.2-beta
Pre-release
Pre-release
Welcome to VaultTune v1.2-beta! This version was initially meant to be a patch version (v1.1.1-beta), but as a result of a significant revision of how playback is handled on the frontend, v1.2-beta is not backwards compatible with v1.1-beta. No new features were introduced in v1.2-beta, but here are all the new fixes:
- Cloudflare Quick Tunnel: VaultTune has transitioned from localtunnel to Cloudflare Quick Tunnel for its automated tunneling service. Cloudflare will provide a much more reliable service that (during initial testing) did not drop socket connections at all as opposed to localtunnel.
- Better mobile UI: Mobile UI will look slightly better as the player card (with all the songs to select from) will no longer overflow in the section that displays which song is currently playing.
- Repositioned player element: The player has been moved to directly under the currently playing song section.
- Better playback: In previous VaultTune versions, playback would often fail if you pressed several songs too quickly. The new playback revision prevents this from happening. Whenever a song is clicked, you'll notice the song turns green, showing the frontend has sent a request to play the song:
The song will lose its green color when the server has responded and the song starts playing.
Notable issues:
- On first-time-run, after completing initial setup and bringing the Vault online, Windows users may be kicked out of the Vault and a Windows Firewall prompt to grant cloudflared permission to access the network. I have no idea why this does not happen immediately upon going online. A fix (might) be released in a future version.
- Vault UI: The Vault UI when performing initial setup sucks really bad. Maximize the window for the best UI view during initial setup.
As always, good luck and enjoy your music!
