Summary

  • Lake layout 2 is now the runtime default: DET_LAKE_PATH derives {path}/raw, {path}/bronze, ops={path}; unified layout 1 is opt-in via DET_LAKE_LAYOUT=1 / --lake-layout 1.
  • Add docs/operator-runbook.md (Day-2 CLI|MCP stuck-state table + Minimal vs Fleet profiles).
  • Bind effective --lake-layout into write approval digests; validate lake root specs (mode + URI kind) without opening object lakes.
  • Typing: include iceberg_maintain / iceberg_register in basedpyright; scoped make cov-branch-hotpaths for lease + catch-up.
