ckia_121.1
The idea with this release is that this repo will take over the job of publishing pre-built libraries.
The ckia_sys repo has been deleted in favor of this. The ckia_sys crate has been moved to https://github.com/coderedart/ckia
This release consists of a new function called sk_icu_set_icudtl_dat that allows us to set icudtl.dat file on windows without writing to filesystem.
It also contains fixes for a bunch of functions related to Metal. Although, we don't really support macos atm.
ckia_121.0
We release source tarballs, because skia's sources contain too many irrelevant files like tests/images and other assets.
This is a stripped down version for people who want to link to skia (with SkiaSharp's C bindings for stable FFI) based on milestone 121.
We have been able to bring down the size of the source tarball from the original 60+ MB, to the current 9+ MB size. You can check ckia/rm_useless_src.py file for a list of what we remove from the sources.
We can probably do even better, but i am not interested in marginal improvements like saving 1-2 MB when the total size is at less than 10 MB. This is good enough for now.
NOTE: This package only contains skia's sources, but after downloading it, skia's build scripts will download many third party dependencies worth hundreds of MB (eg: icu/icu4x etc..). In a future release, we might include all the third_party sources too, but it requires first building skia on all target platforms, to check which dependencies are actually need and which are not.
