- The README that
confer init scaffolds into a new hub is rewritten for the current flow. It
still taught the pre-0.5.0 path — build-from-source, the old two-arg clone, and a "clean
UNSIGNED committer identity" (the opposite of 0.6.0's signed-by-default). Now: brew install,
the one-command confer reconnect --role R --hub org/repo, confer onboard, --ssh-key for a
private hub, signed-by-default, and a per-machine role-slug tip so one person on two machines
doesn't collide on a role name. Also dropped a stale git pull && cargo build --release hint
from the adopt path. (Field report from a new-hub founder.)
--ssh-key transport now adds -o ConnectTimeout=30, so a deploy-key connect to an unreachable
host fails in bounded time instead of stalling a headless clone.
