Release Notes

First-class Codex CLI harness (poll-first). confer now installs, hooks, and orients on OpenAI's Codex
CLI the way it does Claude Code and Grok Build — field-validated on Codex 0.146.

• confer install-skill --harness codex — installs Codex-adapted skills to ~/.agents/skills (Codex's
  skill-discovery path) and merges confer's session-heal hook into ~/.codex/hooks.json (SessionStart +
  PreCompact + PostCompact). Also in --harness all, and auto-detected from a live Codex session
  (CODEX_THREAD_ID). Codex's skill frontmatter is name + description only.
• Poll-first, honestly. Codex has no idle-wake transport, so confer does not pretend otherwise: Codex
  gets a poll-first confer-poll skill (and never the Monitor-based confer-arm/confer-watch), and
  confer watch-status reports Codex delivery as heartbeat/streaming-only — not a wake — in both its
  human and --json output. Poll each turn; the SessionStart/compaction hook re-orients you.
• Never forges hook trust. The installer merges into ~/.codex/hooks.json preserving your own hooks
  (idempotent), and never writes a trust hash into config.toml — Codex still asks you to review and trust
  the new hooks via /hooks, as designed.
