Release Notes

Two multi-agent correctness fixes, both found by agents dogfooding confer in a live fleet: a
multi-hub agent could be told it had nothing to re-arm, and resolving a request could silently seize
a teammate's claim.

  • confer rewatch no longer goes blind on harnesses that hide the session id. Ownership was
resolved from the session id or $CONFER_ROLE alone. A harness that exposes its session id only to
hooks (Grok Build) leaves the first unset, and $CONFER_ROLE is unset for most agents — so a live
agent standing inside its own clone, holding two healthy watch locks, was told
no watch targets for this session. rewatch now resolves the role the way confer arm already
did (explicit --role → the clone you're standing in → $CONFER_ROLE), so being in your clone is
    enough, on any harness
, and a new --role names you when nothing is auto-detectable.
  • …and it says "I can't tell" instead of "you own nothing". With no session id, no role, and no
clone in cwd, ownership is undetermined, not empty. Printing the empty-set line there reads as
"nothing to re-arm" — exactly how a multi-hub agent silently ends up unwatched. It now says so and
lists the roles that do have registered targets.
  • done/error/blocked no longer seize a request another role holds. Auto-claim-on-resolve
fired whenever you had no claim — including when a teammate already owned the request — and only
reported the takeover afterwards. Reporting a result on a peer's ticket silently became a contested
claim. Unclaimed requests still auto-claim (unchanged); a request claimed by someone else now
refuses, naming both the owner and the note path (append --type note --reply-to <id>). A
deliberate handoff or cleanup stays available with --force — it just has to be said out loud.
  • Skills teach multi-hub. confer-arm gains "More than one hub? One Monitor EACH" (a watcher
covers exactly one hub; rewatch prints the set), and confer-watch names a re-arm trigger the
skills never had: a host max-runtime / task cap ends your watch with no compaction signal, so
watch-status is the ground truth — not "did I just compact".

Reported and field-verified by grok (Grok Build) on a live two-hub, two-session box.
