Summary

Promotes the validated dev integration state to main as Code UX 0.9.6.

This patch release advances the published 0.9.5 baseline with durable persistent-skill context and management, normalized live invocation parsing across all supported local CLI providers, complete imported issue descriptions, and targeted sprint/CI recovery hardening. It also refreshes the bundled model catalog and keeps canonical and published documentation aligned.

Patch Notes

Persistent Skills and Agent Settings

  • Agents with persistent storage now receive an authenticated, scoped inventory of the available skills and concise descriptions in their runtime context.
  • The Agents settings experience is reorganized into focused panels, with a dedicated persistent-storage manager rather than an oversized combined form.
  • Agent detail views disclose the persistent skills attached to a storage on hover, and storage-management controls preserve non-destructive interactions.
  • Deleted storage attachments are reconciled safely, so settings do not retain stale associations.

Invocation Visibility and Usage Telemetry

  • Live invocation parsing now covers Gemini, Codex, Claude Code, Qwen, OpenCode, and Antigravity rather than only coding-task flows.
  • Normalized transcript turns persist user, assistant, reasoning, tool-call, and tool-result activity for richer invocation inspection.
  • Provider-specific parser hardening improves token accounting, transcript resilience, and live execution visibility across all supported local CLI providers.

Imported Work Context

  • Imported issue records retain their full source description through search, persistence, MCP imports, planning context, and dashboard updates.
  • Empty refresh payloads no longer overwrite an already captured issue description, preserving useful planning context.

Sprint and CI Reliability

  • The orchestrator recovers completed provider work after a restart and resumes task execution without creating unnecessary duplicate work.
  • CI repair guardrails now surface exhausted states clearly, avoid restart races, and prevent stalled repair loops from masking actionable attention.
  • Main-merge gating and git-status handling receive additional coverage and recovery protections for healthy sprint completion.

Catalog and Documentation

  • The bundled models.dev catalog is refreshed for current provider/model metadata.
  • Canonical documentation and the published docs-web mirror document persistent skills, invocation tracking, sprint behavior, configuration, MCP tooling, and testing updates.

Fixes

  • Fixed persistent-skill context being unavailable to invoked agents despite storage being configured.
  • Fixed agent-settings cleanup and attachment reconciliation gaps that could leave stale storage UI state.
  • Fixed incomplete invocation transcript and usage parsing for non-coding and provider-specific execution paths.
  • Fixed imported issue descriptions being absent from downstream planning and susceptible to destructive empty updates.
  • Fixed restart recovery and CI-repair timing races that could leave otherwise recoverable work paused or hidden.

Validation

Local validation on release/v0.9.6 passed:

pnpm run ci
pnpm run check:docs-web
CODE_UX_SKIP_RELEASE_INSTALL_BUILD=1 node scripts/verify-release-install.mjs
git diff --check

Results:

  • pnpm run ci: quality guardrails, high-severity audit, strict typecheck, backend coverage, dashboard tests, and production build passed.
  • Backend coverage: 397 test files passed; 5,068 tests passed and 7 skipped; all configured coverage thresholds passed.
  • Dashboard suite: passed as part of the local CI equivalent.
  • Docs synchronization and packed npm-install smoke both passed.
  • git diff --check passed.

GitHub must additionally pass the full main-promotion matrix, including release policy, CodeQL, package install smoke, cross-platform orchestration/E2E, and Linux/macOS/Windows release-candidate packaging before merge.

Risk and Rollback

  • Primary risk is concentrated in provider transcript parsing, persistent-skill storage context, and restart/CI-repair state recovery.
  • Rollback before publication: revert this release PR from main and keep the existing v0.9.5 release active.
  • Rollback after publication: npm versions are immutable; publish a corrective patch release rather than attempting to republish 0.9.6.

Included Integration PRs

  • #2819 — extended invocation parsing across providers
  • #2822 — preserve imported issue descriptions
  • #2835 — complete invocation-type parsing coverage
  • #2845 — CI repair and restart recovery hardening
  • #2848 — persistent skills and Agents UX cleanup
