Run without a global installation:

npx @codewhen/workbench@0.18.0

Included

  • Schema-v3 typed flowcharts, functions, globals, loops, parallel work, recovery and manual approvals.
  • Multi-project library, nested folders, readable URLs and native folder selection.
  • Live inspection of external workspace calls, including child logs, prompts and results.
  • Run from here follows the selected card to Finish/Return and can reuse compatible completed upstream evidence, including Join results.
  • A bundled offline manual with local search, screenshots and runnable examples.
  • MIT-licensed, local execution and generic Starter workflows. Consumer-specific projects and private evidence are not bundled.

Requirements and compatibility

Node.js 18+ and Python 3.11+ for npm/npx; Python 3.11+ for the wheel. Bash cards also require Bash. Schema v3 is required; earlier schemas are not automatically migrated. Existing library/storage paths are retained to avoid silently moving user data.

Native Windows acceptance remains unverified. No claim of native Windows certification is made by this stable version number.

Known development-tool alerts

GitHub reports open advisories for Vite/esbuild in the documentation development dependencies. The published npm runtime contains neither development server: it embeds the Python wheel and prebuilt documentation. The production-only documentation dependency audit reports zero findings. Contributors running the documentation development server should review these advisories; this release does not claim those development dependencies have been remediated.

Validation

Verified locally on macOS:

  • 129 Python tests, Ruff formatting/lint and mypy.
  • 27 frontend tests and all 29 browser acceptance tests.
  • All 40 documented workflow examples.
  • Local and GitHub Pages documentation builds, offline search and installed-wheel documentation checks.
  • Clean wheel installation and isolated npm archive installation, version, starter creation, validation and real terminal execution.
  • Wheel/source/npm artifact checks confirm generic Starters are present and consumer workflows/private run data are absent.

Downloads include the wheel, source archive, exact npm archive and SHA-256 checksums. The npm package embeds the same checksum-verified wheel attached here.
