Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.9
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.9
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.9 is an unsigned, unnotarized Apple Silicon Beta.
It restores terminal-first pairing output for the main Runtime commands.
Fixed
- Bare
codex-remote pairnow prints the terminal QR and the copyable
authenticated one-time pairing URL by default. codex-remote startandcodex-remote restartemit the same terminal QR and
URL after service readiness completes.- Explicit
--terminal=false --output PATHremains available for the compact
pure black/white PNG path introduced in Beta 8.
The terminal renderer uses complete ANSI background cells and the
ZXing-compatible high-redundancy matrix, so the three finder patterns remain
closed. The generated matrix was reconstructed and successfully decoded with
OpenCV before publication.
Security and licensing
- Runtime source and this artifact are licensed under Apache License 2.0.
- This Beta is not signed with Developer ID and is not notarized by Apple.
- Previously published Beta archives and tags remain immutable and retain their
published licenses.
Compatibility
- macOS Apple Silicon only.
- Codex CLI
0.148.0or later; tested withcodex-cli 0.154.0-alpha.6.2. - iPhone Safari on the same trusted local network.
SHA256 is published as a separate release asset alongside the archive and
manifest.
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.8
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.8
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.8 is an unsigned, unnotarized Apple Silicon Beta.
It changes the default codex-remote pair workflow to open a compact QR image
designed for iPhone-camera scanning.
Fixed
- Bare
codex-remote pairnow generates a private PNG and opens it with the
macOS image viewer. Explicit--terminaland--outputoptions retain their
direct control over the display path. - Replace the old QR encoder with ZXing-compatible
gozxing v0.1.1, high
error correction, and an explicit four-module quiet zone. - The default camera terminal renderer uses complete ANSI background cells,
not half-block glyphs, so the left-top, right-top, and left-bottom finder
patterns stay closed. - PNG output uses 5px integer modules without interpolation. The current
pairing payload produces an approximately 285 x 285 pure black/white image.
The generated PNG and reconstructed terminal matrix were successfully detected
and decoded with OpenCV before publication.

Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.7
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.7
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.7 is an unsigned, unnotarized Apple Silicon Beta.
It fixes the finder-pattern alignment in the terminal pairing QR renderer.
Fixed
- The camera renderer now uses the encoder's standard four-module quiet zone
without adding a one-module offset. - The upper-left and upper-right finder-pattern borders stay joined instead of
rendering as a detached black row above the QR code in Terminal.app. - The default output is roughly 45 x 23 terminal cells while retaining pure
black/white ANSI backgrounds and the explicitlarge, compact, andsmall
renderer overrides.
The actual ANSI output was reconstructed as a pure black/white bitmap. The
finder corner alignment was verified and the result was successfully detected
and decoded with OpenCV before publication.

Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.10
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.10
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.10 is an unsigned, unnotarized Apple Silicon Beta.
It polishes the terminal presentation shared by pair, start, and
restart.
Changed
- Pairing output now has distinct colored sections for the title, expiry,
security notice, copyable URL, QR area, and PNG path. - URL content is emitted as plain text so users can copy the authenticated link
without terminal color sequences. NO_COLORand redirected output remain stable line-oriented text.- The QR remains isolated below its own label and blank line, preserving the
quiet zone and the closed finder-pattern geometry.

Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.6
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.6
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.6 is an unsigned, unnotarized Apple Silicon Beta.
It replaces the oversized terminal pairing QR introduced in Beta 5 with a
smaller renderer designed around how phone cameras see terminal cells.
Fixed
- The default terminal QR now fits in roughly 47 x 24 terminal cells.
- Solid modules use pure black or pure white ANSI background cells instead of
full-block glyphs that can leave font-rendered seams. - Mixed vertical modules use explicit foreground/background half blocks to
preserve approximately square QR modules. - An extra white module surrounds the encoder's existing quiet zone to isolate
the QR from nearby terminal text. large, compact, andsmallrenderers remain explicit alternatives.
The final ANSI output was reconstructed as a pure black/white bitmap and
successfully detected and decoded with OpenCV before publication.

Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.5
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.5
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.5 is an unsigned, unnotarized Apple Silicon Beta.
It improves pairing QR readability for ordinary iPhone cameras while retaining
the Runtime restart and native WebSocket compatibility fixes from Beta 4.
Fixed
- The default terminal QR renderer now uses large square full-block cells and
a stable quiet zone, removing dependence on terminal font metrics. compactandsmallQR renderers remain available as explicit space-saving
options.

Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.4
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.4
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.4 is an unsigned, unnotarized Apple Silicon Beta.
It includes the source-worktree/runtime restart handoff fix and preserves the
existing Runtime data directory and paired-device state during upgrade.
Fixed
codex-remote restartwaits for the old Supervisor process tree and all
persisted Runtime ports to exit before starting the replacement.- Failed startup rollback uses the same bounded shutdown barrier and reports
exact remaining PIDs or ports when the barrier expires. - Native iPhone and
relayctlWebSocket project/turn traffic remains routed to
the requesting App while Runtime HTTP-created Runs are persisted separately.

Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.3
Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.3
This Beta replaces five duplicate-looking macOS Login Items with one Runtime
Supervisor.
Warning
This proprietary Beta is not signed with Apple Developer ID and is not
notarized by Apple. It is intended for testing and carries no production
support commitment. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally.
Changed
- Register only
com.codex-remote.runtimewith launchd. - Supervise PostgreSQL, Valkey, Relay, Mac Agent, and Gateway as child processes
in dependency order. - Keep separate stdout and stderr logs for every managed service.
- Stop all managed children when one exits unexpectedly, then let launchd
restart the single Supervisor. - During repair, unload and remove only the five exact legacy LaunchAgent
labels and plist files. - Update
status, Doctor, migration, rollback, stop, restart, and uninstall for
the single-Supervisor layout.
Install
brew install codex-remote/tap/codex-remote

Codex Remote 0.2.0-beta.2
This Beta supersedes 0.2.0-beta.1, which cannot start Valkey from the default
macOS Application Support state path.
Warning

notarized by Apple. It is intended for testing and carries no production
support commitment. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally.
Fixed
- Quote and escape the Valkey data directory and password before writing its
configuration, including paths with spaces, quotes, and backslashes. - Reject CR, LF, and NUL in generated Valkey configuration values.
