Choose which controller each player uses — Preferences → Controls → Input Device now binds a controller to Player 1–4. The choice is saved per system and follows the controller, so it survives unplugging and replugging.
Generic USB adapters and arcade sticks now work — controllers without a built-in profile (Retrolink-style SNES/NES adapters and similar) are detected, playable, and mappable like any other pad.
What's Fixed
A disconnected controller no longer shifts the other players — when one player's pad dropped out mid-game, everyone after them moved down a slot. Each player now keeps their own controller.
Two identical controllers are told apart — listed as the name and the name "(2)", so both can be assigned.
Controller Slot picker removed — it never did anything on Linux; Input Device is the one place to assign a pad.
