Windows games and apps — A new Windows category, just below Arcade in the sidebar, holds your PC games and programs. To add one, drop a program (.exe), a shortcut, a Steam or Epic link, or a batch file onto the library from any view. With Windows selected you can also drop a game's install folder, or a folder of game folders such as steamapps\common. Each game is added once, and its installers, crash reporters and updaters are left out. Apps start from where they're installed, and shortcuts keep their launch options. Launches and play time are recorded (for Steam and Epic links, only the launch), and apps can be started from EmuTV too.
Covers and details for Windows apps — Every app gets a cover made from its own icon as soon as it's added. Steam links also get their Steam cover, developer, publisher, genre, release year and description, with no account needed. ScreenScraper and SteamGridDB fill in the rest when you've set them up.
Customise the sidebar — Preferences → Library now lets you choose which consoles the sidebar lists and the order they appear in. You can hide a console or a whole manufacturer, move a console within its group, or move a group together with its consoles. You can also hide consoles with no games, and restore the original layout at any time. Hiding a console doesn't remove anything: its games stay in your library and under All Games.
What's Fixed
Windows programs filed under the wrong console — A program dropped while a console was selected was added to that console (for example, Famicom Disk System). Programs and shortcuts now always go to Windows. A ROM dropped while Windows is selected is still detected as usual.
"Every 15 minutes during play" did nothing — This setting was never read, so it worked exactly like "On game close". Battery saves and memory cards now upload on that interval while a game is running.
"Manual only" still synced on its own — A sync still ran at startup and after signing in, a save was pulled before a game launched, and saves uploaded when a game closed. Now nothing is transferred until you press Sync Now.
Unchanged saves uploaded on every game close — Closing a game rewrote its battery save even when nothing had changed, so the save was sent again each time. Unchanged saves are now left alone.
Failed save uploads never retried — If a battery save failed to upload when a game closed, it was still recorded as uploaded, so later syncs skipped it. It now uploads on the next sync.
Console menu showed the game count instead of the name — Right-clicking the selected console offered to "Remove all 1,234 games". The menu now shows the console's name.
PlayStation 2 and 3 icons in list view — The System column now shows them.
