  • Migrated PDF export functionality from WeasyPrint to Playwright + Chromium due to multiple rendering bugs and WeasyPrint's limited support for modern HTML/CSS/JS features.
  • Playwright ensures pixel-accurate rendering of complex reports and interactive content, including large HTML pages.
  • Introduced dynamic timeout logic based on HTML size to handle PDF rendering of large files reliably (e.g., >50MB+).
  • Resulting PDF files are significantly smaller in size and visually more accurate compared to WeasyPrint output.
  • Updated README with detailed setup instructions including playwright installation and automated setup via setup_env.py.
  • Ensured full cross-platform support (Windows, macOS, Linux) using platform-agnostic virtual environment setup.

This upgrade improves reliability, cross-browser rendering accuracy, and report portability while reducing output size.
