What's new in v2.39

  • Basic Texture buffer support: can now create OpenGL texture buffers, render to them, and render their contents as a texture (WORK IN PROGRESS)
  • Prefabs: Can create a prefab and add prefabs to the world
  • New: Shared/SharedVector for sharing large objects without making copies
  • RenderEngine: render processors now have to register for specific render phases that they run in (i.e. render hooks)
  • New Kaiju-Dev, PhaseJump-Dev schemes for easier dev vs release testing
  • XXXBuilderFunc renamed to BuildXXXFunc (less typing)
  • Ability to inspect components attached to world node in imGui
  • Command, CommandHistory classes for undo/redo
  • Can now delete nodes in ImGui with undo/redo
  • ImGUIMainMenuBarBuilder builds main menu bar from new Menu/MenuItem types
  • imGui shows command history for undo/redo
  • Turn on MSAA for renders
  • World::Texture renamed to World::FindTexture
  • TestAnimateApp: drag in png animations, watch them animate
  • New signalHandlers pattern for handling UI events (no more dynamic_cast/inheritance). In C++ dynamic_cast can be buggy in release builds. Also this pattern is better
  • New: FindFontWithSize, FindFont
  • basic chromatic aberration shader
  • Fixed bug in Vector2/Vector3 operator[] due to optimizing compiler
  • Better QuickBuild, more QuickBuild options. Use QuickBuild in more test/example scenes
  • Render models are now cached and only rebuilt when they need to be
  • Pool now uses unique_ptr to store items so its contents are stable after resize
  • PJ::Log improvements
  • Render engine improvements
  • Event now derives from SomeSignal
  • More code reviews and unit tests
