Fixed

  • --uninstall --diff now rejects the unsupported preview combination before any deletion and directs users to --uninstall --dry-run; uninstall explicitly warns that it removes user content.
  • new-work.sh rejects completed as an initial status; verified completion remains a closeout step.
  • Corrected the closeout heading link, root-guidance installation semantics, and stale preview command; older migration guides now point to the current lifecycle.
  • Custom-skill documentation now warns about current and retired upstream name collisions; pinned install examples pin both the installer and payload.
  • Sync verifies the complete installer download before execution, so failed downloads cannot report success or execute partial content.
  • Claude skill-link previews include retained local skills, preserve valid custom links, and report missing links once.
  • Release publishing checks for the GitHub CLI before creating or pushing a tag; local-tag output gives a valid manual continuation. Release scripts are now included in shell lint.

Added

  • A Markdown-backed workflow-guide hub with focused guides for starting uncertain work, continuing durable work, and finishing while preserving reusable outcomes.

Changed

  • Guidance and skill review keeps the four core skills, consolidates closeout authority in the work-item contract, and allows planned readiness without a saved plan.
  • Research audits distinguish source evidence from inference and coverage gaps; promoted notes stand alone after work-item removal.
  • Browser guidance retains version-matched CLI discovery while clarifying environment rules, sensitive evidence, inspected results, and task-owned session cleanup.
  • Skill maintenance distinguishes loading from exercised behavior and uses skill metadata instead of a duplicate inventory; adaptation checks applicable guidance scopes.
  • Documentation and installed project guidance now make saved plans explicitly optional when a work item's next action is already clear.
  • The landing page demonstrates a bounded work item without a plan, prioritizes continuing work, and links to all four skills. Delivery-authority wording distinguishes local commits from publication, and contributor release steps require a chosen new version.
  • Documentation entry points now separate workflow guides, concepts, exact reference material, and migration guidance more clearly.
  • Entry-point docs, the landing page, and the root AGENTS.md template now state the work-item rule as "create one when its status, decisions, or next action must survive this conversation"; the exhaustive trigger list remains in .agents/work/AGENTS.md and agent-work.
  • The glossary now defines canonical state, category, closeout, delivery authority, durable context, integration owner, and promotion, which the workflow guides reference.
  • Workflow guides use plainer wording with concrete examples for authority, evidence labelling, and integration; the Quickstart and agent-work clarify who updates durable state for delegated work and which status applies when closeout commit authority is missing.
  • The landing page example now shows the full .agents/work/... path, an Artifacts entry, and list-formatted Next Action, and no longer labels the gitignored references/ folder as tracked.
  • The root AGENTS.md template points to plan-template.md instead of copying the task format, and lists continue and close prompts alongside create.
  • agent-work discovery triggers include continue and close work item; README moves contributor commands into a dedicated section.
