What's Changed
This is a small patch release. It makes the Markdown preview keep up with the document you are actually looking at.
- The preview follows you into new files. If you are reading in preview-only mode (Alt+P) or with the side-by-side preview open, opening another Markdown file now shows its rendered content right away. You stay in the preview mode you were in.
- A clear "Preparing Markdown preview…" message now appears while a Markdown file is still loading. Before, you briefly saw an empty page.
- The preview also refreshes after other whole-document updates. This covers reloading a file that changed on disk, restoring a draft or a local-history snapshot, and saving with formatting applied.
- Save As and rename update the preview too. Saving an untitled document as
notes.mdrenders it as Markdown. Renaming a.mdfile to.txtshows "Not a Markdown file".
Manual Actions Needed
No manual action is needed for this release. Update through your usual Flatpak remote.
Warnings and Deprecations
There are no warnings or deprecations in this release. Creating a new untitled document still leaves preview-only mode, as before, so you can start typing straight away.
Bug Fixes
- Opening a Markdown file while the preview was active no longer shows an empty preview until you toggle the preview off and on again.
- Renaming a Markdown file to an extension with no known language no longer keeps its Markdown syntax highlighting and preview.
- Opening the side-by-side preview right after the first document appears no longer prints a GTK size-allocation warning.
- A folder you expanded in the workspace sidebar no longer collapses again by itself when a background check of whether that folder is empty finishes late.
