XLETH 1.2.2-Beta
Packaging bug resulted in a frozen & broken splash screen.
XLETH 1.2.1-Beta
This is by far the most drastic release I've made. Enjoy!
Timeline & Navigation
- All engine-side conversion now routes through
RenderClockinstead of inline duplication - Timeline scrolling is now smoother
- New auto-scroll option for the timeline
- Resource-friendly smooth scrolling for both timeline and piano roll
- Loop region on the timeline now only occupies the top half
- Replaced the old slider-based Zoom/Pan/Rotate with a "camera lens editor"
- Right-click a pattern to create a unique copy for variations
- New shortcut: Click a clip, hold Shift, then click elsewhere to select the area between them
- Shift+Drag now conformed to global snapping
- Scroll wheel shortcuts changed:
- Scroll wheel: scroll up/down
- Shift + scroll wheel: scroll left/right
- Ctrl + scroll wheel: zoom horizontally
- Alt + scroll wheel: zoom vertically
Track & Mixer
- Track headers now use bolder colors; pattern/clip types are shown as simple icons (piano for patterns, waveform for clips)
- Double-clicking a track header pans over and focuses to the track on the Mixer
- Automation clips now work with stock effects (previously limited to Macro knobs)
- Hold Last Frame now clamps to avoid extending across the entire track
Plugins & Effects
- All plugins now share a consistent design with the rest of XLETH
- Finished Filter, UniFlange, and Phanjer
- Added a preset system
- Updated FX Graph visuals and interaction
- Added LFO Modulator to the Node Graph
- Added loudness detection and normalization for YouTube
- You can now save FX chains as shareable .json files and copy-paste them across mixer tracks
New Plugins
- APEX: multiband compressor (similar to FL Studio's Maximus)
- GLOSS: companion plugin to APEX
- XLETH Filter: Basic & advanced filter effects with built-in modulators
- UniFlange: Flanger version of chorus
- Phanjer: Import of my first VST plugin, a seamless Phaser+Flanger combo
Sampler (this one is the biggest!)
- Multi-slot support
- Precomputed time-stretching and pitch-shifting
- Preview monitoring: hear samples raw or through their assigned track(s) during preview
- Per-note effects
- Envelope, LFO, Velocity, and Note-based modulation for any knob
- Legacy projects using the old sampler will convert automatically
Piano Roll
- Snap to Scale
- Shift + pitch shifting now transposes by ±12 semitones
- Selecting multiple notes and adjusting velocity affects all selected notes
Appearance
- Slightly adjusted clip contrast for readability
- Thicker scroll bars and sliders
- Fixed brightness adjustment in Settings > Appearance; text is now readable at higher brightness values
Bug Fixes
- Copying and pasting large numbers of clips and patterns no longer creates gaps or imprecise positioning
- Trimming stretched clips now works as expected
- Samples in mono no longer break alternate notes when all are placed consecutively in time
- Transient Processor now applies sustain for MIDI
- Dragging clips between tracks now works reliably (duplication via Shift+drag or copy-paste was unaffected)
- Quick notation now fully chops 32nd notes
- Deleted effect instances no longer leave stale open windows
- FX Graph no longer hardcodes EQ parameters to bands 0-3 only
- Modulation window for base and depth no longer appears off-screen when FX Graph is windowed
- "BehindGrid" fullscreen layers are no longer forced to have "Hold Last Frame" enabled
- Fixed a preview FPS regression caused by wasted blocking decodes

- Undo/redo and copy-pasting short cuts occasionally did not work, notably on the timeline and piano roll
- Opus codec would not work, especially when using the Discord rendering feature
- Brightness configuration under Appearance didn't work
