Installtypes

This page explains all about installtypes and lists further pages for every type.

What is an installtype?

An installtype is a set of instructions for ccpt on how to install, update or remove a package. These are hardcoded into the program, but you can feed them with different values per package by filling in the "install"-section in your "packageinfo.ccpt" (How to create your own packageinfo.ccpt).

How to specify which installtype your package uses

Every installtype has an ID (See below for a full list of installtypes). This ID must be stored in the "install"-section of your "packageinfo.ccpt" as "type":

...
install = {
        type = "<Installtype ID>",
        <More install info>
    }
...

What's "More install info"? How can I give ccpt these "other values"?

Of course every installtype requires more than just the ID, for example an URL on where to download your program from. But this is very installtype specific and can be looked up in the installtypes own Wiki article.

List of possible installtypes

At the moment, there are only two. But more are to come as we are still in alpha.

  • "library": Used to install single file libraries in the "/lib"-folder
  • "script": Used to run a script to install/update/remove a package
