Description
While working on Janschewitz-2008-460, the broadness of mappings to the concept set 3357 CUPBOARD stood out to me.
"Cupboard", "cabinet" and "closet" are all currently mapped to the same concept. That makes some sense, since they can be used as synonyms in some cases. But looking at the definitions (here: Webster's Dictionary), there are some differences:
- Cupboard: a closet with shelves where dishes, utensils, or food is kept.
- Cabinet: a case or cupboard usually having doors and shelves,
- Closet: a cabinet or recess for especially china, household utensils, or clothing.
The terms do overlap, of course, I just don't think they're fully interchangeable. Maybe it’s worth discussing whether mapping them all to one concept is precise enough, or if some distinction might be helpful?
