Names

One name per part, and what each one is for.

Status ✅ This page is the vocabulary. Every other page uses these names and links here on first use
Why it exists so that one product has one name, and each part of it has exactly one name too

In plain words

Galahad is the product. It is the whole system you install and run.

Inside it are two memories. Each answers a different question.

Name What it is The question it answers
Galahad ⭐ the product: the whole system it is the thing you install
Taliesin the KV cache: the model's own computed state, saved byte-exact "have I already computed this?"
Blaise the document memory: your documents, split into chapters, kept as exact text "what does the document say, word for word?"

⚠ Those are the names. Everything else in Galahad is a function, not a part with a name of its own: attribution, replay, branching, forgetting, cost reporting. You call them through the API Reference.

⭐ The names come from the legend: Galahad completed the quest, Taliesin was the bard who remembered everything exactly, and Blaise was the scribe who wrote the record down.

The split that matters

⭐ Taliesin holds computation. Blaise holds knowledge.

That decides which memory answers a given question.

Taliesin Blaise
what it keeps the model's KV state: what it already worked out your documents: the exact text, in chapters
found by the exact text, word for word a question, or a document and a place in it
what it saves you the work of reading the text again keeping and finding the exact text yourself
two identical texts reused as one kept as two documents, each with its own text

Both memories share the same protection: Encryption at Rest, Tenant Isolation and Collision Safety.

What you install, and the names in code

You install Galahad: one file, libgalahad.so, with both memories inside.

In your code Name
C functions for Taliesin and storage the merlin_ prefix, header merlin.h. This is only the name of the C interface; the product is Galahad
C functions for Blaise the galahad_blaise_ prefix, header galahad_blaise.h
Python, for vLLM and SGLang pip install galahad; the plug-in module is galahad_vllm
Python, for agent frameworks import sfab_agents (Agent Connectors)
Python, for replay tests merlin_replay (Replay)
settings every environment setting starts with GALAHAD_
log lines start with [galahad]
