Updated October 18, 2026

  • Firmware identification: prefer com.android.build.system_ext.fingerprint for firmware version and region identification. This fixes newer firmware whose system.fingerprint contains only a short build number. Older images without the system_ext property retain the system fallback.
  • Connection waits: STEP 5 (ADB/TWRP) and STEP 7 (EDL) allow stopping after 30 seconds and stop with a timeout error after 3 minutes, preserving backups and saved progress. A connection returned after the deadline cannot proceed to writes. If a USB call is already in progress, the timeout is displayed after that call returns.
  • Unrecognized firmware: if the stock firmware version or region cannot be identified, a warning asks whether to continue with a possible custom ROM, GSI or test build. Continuing requires an explicit choice. Cancelling or closing the confirmation does not proceed.
  • Stock limits remain unchanged: PRC ZUXOS_1.5.10.186 or earlier, including preceding PRC ZUI builds; ROW ZUI_18.5.10.037 or earlier. Identified stock firmware above these limits remains blocked. Device-model and transport checks also remain in place.

Features

  • PRC ↔ ROW region conversion, original partition backup and restore, and official firmware installation for the TB520FU
  • DeviceInfo region and rollback index updates in TWRP, with readback verification
  • Device connection status and active slot detection, driver settings, and country code selection
  • Open-source licenses and source information available offline in the app

Region conversion always erases user data. Back up important files separately before starting, and keep the USB connection intact throughout the process.

Validation

  • This update passed 485 automated tests, including 72 GUI tests, workspace static checks and the Windows x64 release build. The Korean and English warning screens were also checked.
  • Read-only inspection of actual vbmeta_system.img files confirmed version identification for ROW 18.5.10.037, 17.5.10.309 and 16.1.10.027, and PRC ZUXOS_1.5.10.186.
  • The project maintainer personally tested the main workflows on earlier prerelease builds with a real TB520FU, including region conversion, DeviceInfo updates and verification, firmware installation, and original-configuration restore.
  • GPT reference outputs for slots a and b were previously confirmed to match the validated versions byte for byte.

Hardware validation covers the devices, environments and scenarios actually tested. It does not imply that every combination of slot, firmware version and exceptional condition has been tested. The October 18 changes have not yet been retested through device writes.

The app displays version 0.1.0 internally; this distribution is identified as the v0.1.0-pre.1 prerelease.
