Testnet v1.1.4 - Peer Discovery Enabled

This release updates the base version to v1.1.4 and enables enhanced peer-to-peer discovery for improved network redundancy and resilience.

Critical Change

The container configuration has been modified to expose UDP Port 7400 to enable the P2P discovery protocol. This allows your node to find and connect to other peers on the network, rather than solely depending on the hardcoded bootnodes.

  • New Change in docker-compose.yml: Added exposed port 7400/udp to ensure discovery is active.
  • Container Naming: The new naming convention is active in this release: coti-testnet-full-node (replacing coti-full-node).

Instructions for Updating

  1. Stop Old Containers: Stop the existing containers in the repository directory.

    cd ~/coti-full-node
./stop_coti-full-node.sh

  2. Clone or Pull Changes: Fetch the latest release tag.

    • New Users (Clone): git clone https://github.com/coti-io/coti-full-node.git
    • Existing Users (Pull): git pull

  3. Checkout the Discovery Tag: Ensure you are on the correct configuration that includes this P2P enhancement.

    git checkout tags/v1.1.4-testnet-discovery

  4. Start New Containers: Start the new containers with the updated configuration.

    ./start_coti-full-node.sh
