mac2jb v0.4.0 adds homebrew and media playback to the verified ns2jb workflow.

Required migration: Replace the old nine-argument bootstrap.bas / saved
NS2 from previous mac2jb releases. It is incompatible with v0.4.0 and will not
be supported by future releases. Use Type bootstrap only in the GUI or
Full install in the CLI to send the new bundled kurumuz bootstrap, then save
it in slot 0 as NS2. The new START(PORT,A,B,C,D) takes five arguments.

  • Stremio · experimental: Mac-assisted addon catalogs, episode/source
browsing and direct HTTP(S)/HLS playback on the Switch 2. Startup and playback
are confirmed. Targets 320×180 at 15 fps with audio; Stremio must also be
installed on the Mac. Torrents and subtitles are unsupported.
  • Account features: Optional browser sign-in keeps the account key in the
Mac's Keychain. Account addons, library/resume and watch-progress sync are
included experimentally; live library and cloud-sync behavior are not yet
    independently verified.
  • HBLauncher v0.2.0 + ftpd-sb v0.1.0: GPU app launching and FTP access to
SmileBASIC storage, with the released ftpd-sb package bundled. The README
explains adding app folders, Refresh and per-GUI-launch library persistence.
  • Updated ns2jb workflow: Bundles the kurumuz fork, its exact bootstrap,
corrected typing progress, Held RPC and system-code capture with inventory
    and hash verification.

Start a fresh Held RPC run, wait for 4/4 verification, then choose
Launch Stremio or Launch HBLauncher in the same open mac2jb app. No Pico
is needed. Only one homebrew application can be launched per session. Finish
the session and restart the console before another attempt.

Requires an Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 14 or newer, the approved USB driver,
Switch 2 system software 23.0.1, SmileBASIC 4.4.9, and more than 20 MiB
free in its save. Ethernet is likely required for the Switch 2; Wi-Fi has not
yet been verified with this setup.
The app is ad hoc signed and includes the
tested unsigned driver; existing Recovery/driver setup requirements still apply.
